- The late Rosemary Muthoni Munio was born Muthoni Ngina to
Felistas Ngina David on 19/8/1958 in Nginduri village, Kiamwangi
Location, Gatundu South, Kiambu County. She was the first born

As a young girl growing up in a coffee growing area in Gatundu

farm with labour input typically necessary for sustenance of
smallholder agriculture. In this regard she became the darling
of her late grandfather Mzee David Mugithi and her late
grandmother Jemimah Muthoni. Her grandparents were her best
friends. Muthoni grew up in
a loving family with cousins
where the boundaries of
motherhood were indistinct.
ACADEMIC LIFE
Muthoni started primary school in 1965 at Kiamwangi Primary
School where she immediately distinguished herself as a
bright and bold pupil. This streak was to continue through
primary school making her the envy of many boys. She
passed well and was admitted to Kiburia Secondary School
in 1972 for her secondary education. She continued to excel in her studies and got admitted to
Pangani Girls for “A” Levels in1976 where again she excelled and secured herself a placement
at the University of Nairobi, Department of Sociology in 1978. Rosemary obtained a Bachelor

Archangel in Edenville. She was a faithful participant at the daily early
morning Mass, and of the Divine Mercy Devotion. Each year she made
a pilgrimage to the National Marian Shrine in Subukia to intercede for
her family and friends. She had a loving and longstanding devotion to
St. Antony of Padua, to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate
Heart of Mary, and St. Michael the Archangel. She had a fearless and
outspoken faith that could move mountains founded on conscientious
and tireless efforts in search
