AT 68, I have spent my life wishing Ford had offered this version. I can't even find a kit car of it. I like this vid for showing how crude even a factory build was, plus: fiberglass work with no gloves, masks, goggles, or contained area with exhaust. Also cool to see so many features that took up to decades to become retail-level.
I got to see this car about 10 years ago when the last Ford GT was shown in Monterey CA. All i could think of was a corvette stingray being used for reference.
Sports car to daily driver to sports car and then an electric SUV. This Prototype might be the best mustang. Although I do like the 1990’s to the 2015 Mustang
Them choosing to not put the car into production was really stupid and evil of them. Good thing that the car will be put into production in the future.
Ford is in the business to sell cars. They sold a million Mustangs in 18 months. If they had built this they would have sold fifty thousand in ten years. However, I wish they had built both.
THIS is some vintage GOODNESS right here! Long live the Mustang!!

Glad to see this design actually went into the Mach V for Speed Racer...

They design this, but release a re-bodied Falcon incorporating none of the prototype's innovations. Brilliant.
+1

I think the Mustang 1 is very Kool
like if ford should make this in 2020
Jack Wheeler in Hot Wheels drove The 1962 Mustang 1
iIhave the toy hotwheels of this prototype
The production Mustang - hardly a real sports car. Good car nevertheless
Plenty of style but no worries about the human component, very fancy and a step forward yes, but still no safety in mind
What are you talking about they added seatbelts a padded dash and a collapsible steering column neat more tan any other car at the time
@@lindseyjungers-hoffman2525 exactly, hell most modern road cars don't even have roll bars.
tires optional
