There's that moment at 6:10 where the music transitions from trippy electronic chaos to this warm organ sound that would give me goosebumps the first 50 or 60 times I heard it. It is brilliant from start to finish.
my mother loved to take care of her garden so thoroughly and passionately three years have went by since she passed away and I still cherish that beautiful piece of heaven she took care of every now and then I play this tune and shed a tear while i remember her smile along all those flowers
I had to run it another time. Still gets to me as mentioned. I try to forget about this track, since it's rare on vinyl. But the chords _really_ make me go getting up in tears _every time_ I listen to this... Meh.. Yeah great work, guys
@@jamesfield1674 yeah, that. Or _brilliantly insane,_ at the very least. It inspired me to try to create an expanded version, a couple of days ago. I aim for an hour long version. So I've been splicing it up into segments edit and paste them, and what you mentioned is _exactly_ what goes through my mind btw. It just won't leave the mind, taking full control over the earworms...

You are correct. The title of the song is inspired by the same young woman. She had brain cancer, & symptoms of her condition caused periodic bright spots in her vision. She had the sun in her head. Her name was Sally Harding & she photographed Orbital. The boys knew her since she was 16. Ms. Harding died in 1995 at the age of 27.
excellent new year music I have got this and a few other orbital tracks on cycle (one perfect sunrise), whilst i just paint with my new oil paints, great inspiration, oil isn't my medium so its a new exploration here, thanks for uploading,
On vinyl it's a truly amazing cleanliness. There's only a handful of electronic music albums in the world that sound so clean. The decision to do this, record using only solar energy & batteries, really make this one of the top electronic music albums of all time, it's THAT clean.
@@CoffeeAndPaulI didn't consider it's effect on audio before and after learning this about this track today for the first time I'm even more of a fan!
Where have all the raver kids gone??? 🙁 cardib money = crap.... I hear it's a conspiracy this music to make the listeners introverted, but its good lol

Same here, excellent moment
It adds a whole new dimension to the tune. Spot on!
@@peterfennell16 Just listened to it again (after not having heard it in a while) and got goosebumps at 6:10 just like I used to. What a great song!
HOLY SHIT you just perfectly nailed it. God that organ part has been floating around in my head for years as the ultimate headbob.

300 years from now that piece of music will be know and studied as the pinnacle of the artform like Mozart today.
😂
But true!
Definitely true@@jackiehibbard3696
The Orbital guys know how to build their tracks. Truly amazing stuff
You better believe it, and they have been putting on a great show since the beginning. Saw them in 2001 on a tour across america...
The backstory to this song is melancholy.
The bass beat is a dying friend's heartbeat recorded.
Is this for real? Would you mind to publish the reference?

What an excellent opening track to the album ! Uff ! The 90's were so much fun for me !
Love it! One of their best.
My First and the Best Orbital track. Masterpiece ❤
I came up to this tune in a tent in Wales when I was like 16. The music quickly became very 3 dimensional. Probably more like 6D lol
Been there
My favorite fact about this track is that it was recorded entirely with solar energy using Greenpeace's mobile generator Cyrus :)
