- Chase, my croc monitor lizard, is now allowing me to fully pet him! It's a major milestone. Diamond is still pretty darn sketchy though. Taming large lizards takes a lot of patience, but the goal is to get Chase and Inky and even the black throat monitor lizards as tame as Slinky!

Some lizards never tame down, no matter what you do. It's nobody's fault, it's just their nature.

@@YochevedDesigns inky was extremely tame when he got her she's just gorn wild from being outside in a large enclosure she could be brought back.
The croc monitors really seem to catch on to the new food really well! Great progress with Chase, and he seems to be nice and gentle with his roommate sharing food, also good!
Kenan shouldn’t keep changing his look if he wants his animals to get used to him. First he gives them “Thor” with red meat then “Elmer Fudd” serves them fish.

@@The_Crucible714that’s not how that works at all. He still smells and sound the same and they have pretty awful eyesight.
Chase is definitely turning the corner mentally and looking at you as a regular companion in his world. Friends shouldn't be far off.

Watching how deftly those big lizards maneuver those fish, using just their mouths, is incredible. Huge progress with Chase. So exciting!!!❤️🦎

We are feeding all the animals
Now he has the machinery would be a good time to look for some downed logs to use as basking platforms for the turtles in the big pond (not pine.) If not the county will just haul them away and chip them for mulch or treat them with creatine for use as telephone polls. A few basking logs would make the turtles happy and you’d actually be able to see them once in a while. People are still cleaning up after the storm.

I didn’t expect that the croc monitors would take to the fish so readily. Sadly frogs and other small animals are going to be eaten inside the monitor enclosures.
I think you should re-design Inky's cage. The hide at the entrance always seems awkward to me, and when you lift the water dish and expose her she gets startled and goes into flight mode instantly. I think you should move her warm hide more in the middle so you have to walk in to lure her out of it. And maybe some more foliage too. Glad Chase is making progress.

Chase is a an absolute unit of a croc monitor. Seeing him fully stretched out like that never gets old and the palm trunk was a perfect addition for them, especially as they get larger.
Lulu's Vision cage is looking fantastic. It's becoming a great looking enclosure

I love Lulu's enclosure, and she is so gorgeous it's ridiculous. Her markings are just stunning!
Miss Inky's set up needs improvement so you can spend more time with her. She's a tad bit feral! 😂
I feel bad for Inky too. I know you love her Kenan but she needs a bigger enclosure with less places to hide. You've had her too long for her to be that scared.
With those extra suncatcher panels, you should create an airlock for Inky. Would help secure the area when you open her door and keep you from slamming the other to close.

Great to see the interaction between the Crocs and you. Don't break your ankle on that gap!
Its amazing to see how far you have come with Chase and especially Diamond.
This is an idea to help with not having to hands on your croc monitors when moving them in on too cold nights is to build a mobil hide on a large wheeled garden cart. Get them used to using them during the winter months. When its going to be too cold for them. You just have shut the door on each and move them out.
I admit I made a "Mr. Obvious" comment earlier (and deleted it!).
Thank goodness Kenan fixed that step in the Croc Monitor enclosure.

Correction: The "crap wood" is breaking again! Maybe get a denser wood that holds up better in the humidity? I dunno...

Fantastic improvement and what a great understanding he has with you 😊 it’s a beautiful bro-mance forming that am definitely looking forward to seeing more of! It would also be so awesome to be able to have him “tame” enough to have him out of his enclosure and being held by you whilst you educate people about them, so people (perhaps for a donation) could see him up close, in small groups of course.🫶🏻🇦🇺

Chase is definitely letting his curiosity win out over his fear. It's just a matter of time before he gets comfortable with you petting him. Diamond might just have a more skittish personality in general, so if she doesn't warm up, don't take it personally. Reptiles definitely have their own personalities.

That is absolutely amazing that you could touch chase and pet them big gains for you and the animals. Absolutely love it. Just remember take your time with him. Don’t force yourself on him. I know winter coming up for you. Try to lure him in his box with food if you can, or he might just allow you to pick them up and put them in the hide box❤

The croc monitor cages are starting to grow out very nicely! I feel like inky would tame up faster with a bigger enclosure. It seams like she thinks your a predator trying to eat her with the tight space and always having to stand over her. Idk if monitor lizards have the "3rd eye" like frogs and other lizards do but i get that kind of vibe from her

Does Kenan know what cold weather is? Come up to Ottawa in January and February then you'll know cold weather. Or go to Iceland, Greenland, the Canadian Territory areas or Siberia

Chase must be starved if he is challenging Diamond, maybe offer them some eggs too, another thing you could give them to up nutrition and calories is Salmon oil, you can get a big jug of it from Amazon. And just pump it onto or into the fish. ❤‼️❤💯😎

Hoping to get update on the Caiman. I am fascinated with crocodillian baby vocalization and although it sounds the same to us it differs by each species!
All the Croc Monitors are beautiful, but looking at the pattern, Lulu´s is always more vibrant. Of course, it depends on when or where they´re shedding, but her markings are always more colorful. Is she maybe older and doesn´t grow/shed as much, or is it just the way it is?
I hope one day Diamond will start to just you like Chase has, it could be idea fed them on positive attitude towards you instead of negative actions against you.
Hey Kenan!. I noticed ou did a "shh" sound while making friends with the monitor. I know you probably are ware of this but thats not a great sound to make while trying to make friends with any reptile (because its a "get away from me sound".This isnt me trying to be a jerk more a trying to sort out the little details.
I love what you do and wish i could aswell!! keep the good and poositive things going!

Tbh I’d also be concerned about the change in appearance as well, it follows suit when training hook-bills also. My brother shaved off his thick beard once and some of his parrots didn’t recognize him at first. His tame black palm cockatoo and one of his scarlet macaws actually drew blood, he freaked them right out! I’d be careful around those croc monitors for a while, at least until they get used to him.

I wonder if Inky would be better of in a different enclosure, everytime she’s on the tape she’s either under the waterbowl or in her hidebox.

Inky is too secluded off to the side of the yard where she dont get enough human intervention of walk bys and such imo. She seems crazier than ever.

You ever thought about raising chickens? Would feed alot of your animals depending on life stage.
I have a question if a tortoise has a wound on his front legs how can i cure it looks like a bacteria infection or a bite wound

You beat me to the “Silver Sulfadine!” My own doctor prescribed a “human version” of it to me for a bad burn, it works amazingly well, something about the “silver” in it. One guy turned “Smurf Blue” by ingesting too many pills containing “silver compounds” for internal parasites I believe. Seriously, he was *bright blue.*
