Nah Metallic Madness was ok with the new background TWIST but damn out of this whole shit Mirage Saloon and Studiopolis are the only two good levels musically plus gameplay wise LOL!
Shit I still own Sonic CD and Knuckles Chaotix and even sold copies of them to people I also own Sonic Adventure and BOTH versions of Nights but now Sonic teams is letting me down.

This is one of zones I really love.
Gotta love references to other Sonic levels that aren't in Mania, like how Stardust Speedway act 1 references Marble Garden , or how Oil Ocean act 2 references Sandopolis act 2's gimmick, and there's Lava Reef act 2 referencing Quartz Quadrant.
i had no idea where i was going in act 2 but the music was so good i just kept on running, took me 7 minutes to finally get to where i was supposed to be

I have a question, wouldn't it make sense if they did a 3 acts Stardust speedway with Past, Present and Bad future? That would even be a reference to Metropolis in Sonic 2 as that zone is well knowed as the only zone to have 3 acts in that game?
Bad future of stardust is my favorite zone of the entire franchise. Will be amazing if put it on as sct3

The bad future is what the future defaults to when you travel to it. You have to go to the past and destroy the robot teleporter and the Metal Sonic projector in the first two acts to get the good future for the entire zone. Otherwise, you'll only get it for one act.
Act 1 is the past version, and I guess act 2 is somehow the good future

Ok so here’s some reasons on why you don’t want to live in stardust speedway
1 there’s a metal sonic trying to k!ll everything in the city
2 ITS VERY LOUD LIKE THIS
3 the city version is too annoying and you should live in the temple part
4 if you live in the temple part you have to constantly try to not d!e from what ever the heck the things are that try to hit you with those beams of light
5 the temple is too dangerous because it’s a place of knock off pirahna plants from Mario
6 the temple is also dangerous because of the spikes
7 the city is too dangerous because of the constant music threatening to blow your eardrums out
So In conclusion don’t live in stardust speed way whether it be present or future

Favorite zone so far. Except that I'm stuck on the effing final metal sonic boss.
Ok so a brief story, when I was tackling this stage and got to the metal sonic final form, I wasn't that afraid since i was aware of it, after dying 2 times i decided to straight push it, thinking I was gonna die, believe it or not, I SURVIVED and the boss died, at that point, I thinked: "the fuck!? I wasn't supposed to do that!"
now i just wish that the life counter icon was changed to have the past version on it in act 1

Wait. The present in Stardust Speedway is apparently is the past, and the future is the present. Why and how did they revert back to its past state? And if you say its because of the phantom ruby, think again because little planet exists in the game, we see it at the end of lava reef! THESE ACT CHOICES MAKE NO SENSE!

One thing that is kinda strange is why do you get teleported to stardust speedway past instead of present? I mean maybe the phantom ruby can transport you trough time? But if that's the case then why wouldn't eggman use it in forces or the other parts in mania?
In Forces, its explained that it just creates illusions that just happen to be able to kill people if used maliciously. It has the power of a star trek holodeck with the safety turned off.

All Sonic mania is it's just a mashup and remake of all the original games which I don't see what so special about that I'm like sure it has some fan work in it but like yeah I don't see what's so special about it like what's so special about Sonic mania and like yeah it was a good game but only because it was a remake and mashup of Sonic 1 2 CD and maybe other games Blake yeah what's so special about it I just don't see it I mean like yeah they bring back some characters from knuckles chaotic which I originally thought were from Sonic mania but no they're from knuckles chaotics also sorry I'm using text to speech so not everything that I do is correct

This is the original boss fight. It played similarly to the original Sonic CD fight where you have to race metal sonic while avoiding be hit by Eggman's death laser wall; except here its a spike wall.
When Mania Plus was released, both the original release and the plus version were updated to replace this phase with Metal Sonic Kai from Knuckles Chaotix. Tbh I kinda prefer this old version. The new one incorporates the crumbling platform from the final boss of Sonic 3&K, and I am very much not a fan of it.

Interesting how they wrapped Marble Garden Zone in Stardust Speedway. Though I never played Sonic CD, so maybe Marble Garden ripped off it's tricks from this zone.
Michael David Roth The way they tied it in made sense too. Stardust Speedway in the past was essentially just an ancient city with its roads covered in overgrowth, undiscovered and mysterious.

nah. OG stardust speedway had none of the marble garden mechanics. Theres a lot of zone blending stuff in mania. Lava Reef Act 2 pulls stuff from Quartz Quadrant (CD) iirc, Green Hill borrows from Emerald Hill (Sonic 2) and Angel Island (Sonic 3), Flying Battery borrows from Wacky Workbench (CD), Hydrocity borrows some things from Tidal Tempest (CD), etc etc.
0:20 What an absolutely TERRIBLE idea for an enemy. Some little shit that follows you around and randomly and endlessly respawns in the hopes of catching you while you are enjoying the game. And the only way to guarantee not getting hit is to stop DEAD in your tracks and wait for him to do his gay little attack. What spaz thought that one up?

when it stops, you have several seconds to just... walk past it. you gotta be mega slow to be hit by it
