I think that the Battle of Pokrovsk will be the bloodiest battle of the war. Both sides are gonna throw everything they possibly can at it. Russia has the advantage as they can keep sending meatwaves until positions are overwhelmed, even if they take 4x the casualties, but it will be an insanely costly battle. If Russia takes it though then I think Ukraine will be forced to negotiate early next year, as like 70% of the Donbas will be occupied by Russia, and the lines in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson aren't moving. However if Ukraine manages to hold on through the winter Russian troops will exhaust themselves, buying time to build defences for the coming year.
