Since both lids are placed on one side of the table, it will always make at least one player uncomfortable, whatever country he is from. At least it should allow the player to choose where to put the lid. I watched the archive from the first match and observed Byun was also moving his right hand all across the board to put the chess in the lid, which seems not very comfortable for the players.
Also, 2 moku for the first time and losing the game for the second time is too heavy. I understand the dead stone is very important in Korean rule and this rule is set for preventing players from cheating the number of dead stones. However, not putting the stones into the lid is a fairly common mistake, while I've never heard any high rank Go players cheated on dead stones number. Therefore, such penalty has only a low chance to punish the players who cheated, while having a high chance in punishing merely mistakes.
With the help of modern technology there are too many ways to track the number of dead stones. Races are recorded from the very first to the last minute so everyone can easily check the correct number of dead stones. It seems much better to punish the players only when cheating happens. Therefore I argue the rule of putting dead stone in the lid as harmful and helpless.

现在问题一样如此，这是一个夹在半决赛和决赛中的全新规则，在此前的世界大赛上根本没有出现过，这种新加的，对外国棋手非常违背习惯的，不友好的，惩罚过分严重的规则作为主办方怎么强调都应该不为过，你把棋盖放到执棋手的另一方，没有任何警告的前提下直接罚点，那我不提针对的阴谋论，姑且算是主办方对规则格外重视。但卞作为棋手在对手去接水的时候没有提醒，直接打小报告，报告完之后连柯洁都不敢看一眼就离场，这种行为比谢科还要恶劣，这样的胜利要了又有什么意义，难以理解，实在是胜之不武。这种棋手在未来真的还会有胜负师的心态和能力吗？

You always talk about following the rules, but you never consider the fairness or timing of those rules. This is a 2024 competition, and the rules should have been established before the event officially started, not midway through. Doing this affects the players' performance. Moreover, I believe this rule specifically targets Chinese players, as their country doesn’t have such a rule. This is clearly designed to favor a specific champion.

Even ignoring the implementation process, I don't think the new rule is a good one. Since both lids are placed on one side of the table, it will always make at least one player uncomfortable, whatever country he is from. At least it should allow the player to choose where to put the lid. I watched the archive from the first match and observed Byun was also moving his right hand all across the board to put the chess in the lid, which seems not very comfortable for the players.
Also, 2 moku for the first time and losing the game for the second time is too heavy. I understand the dead stone is very important in Korean rule and this rule is set for preventing players from cheating the number of dead stones. However, not putting the stones into the lid is a fairly common mistake, while I've never heard any high rank Go players cheated on dead stones number. Therefore, such penalty has only a low chance to punish the players who cheated, while having a high chance in punishing merely mistakes.
With the help of modern technology there are too many ways to track the number of dead stones. Races are recorded from the very first to the last minute so everyone can easily check the correct number of dead stones. It seems much better to punish the players only when cheating happens. Therefore I argue the rule of putting dead stone in the lid as harmful and helpless.
