The Kiss and James Bond worst to best videos I made are the most fun because of the comment section. The lists everybody shared are so varied! There are no controversial or obscure favorite albums with Kiss fans, all of them have their fans. Unmasked which helped tank their career in the early 80's and I strongly dislike has its rabid fans. My dark horse is Revenge which I'm surprised by all the lists is ranked pretty low. I'm not surprised you have Peter Criss in the top 5 even though I think I had it last because I found it definitely has its fans. Creatures continues to be wildly popular which I agree with. Taz the wrestler in his early days used to come to the ring with his entrance theme being War Machine and it was totally badass. Killers is hard to come by being mostly an import but luckily the original songs on it have been reissued on the Creatures anniversary CD.
@@BlackTerror Haven't seen the James Bond list yet, but I have never seen a JB movie after the Timothy Dalton era. Next will probably be Elton John. Peter Criss album is enjoyable. It's not a Kiss album, it's an R&B album with some disco and acoustic moments on it. It has some great melodies and that stunning voice of his, so it's hard not to like? But if you want a Kiss album, you will be dissapointed. His later album sound a lot more like Kiss (and are great too) but not this one. Killers is hard to find in the US - not so much in Europe (12 tracks) and Japan (14 tracks) where it was first released. It has 4 new songs which are the best Kiss in years (better then Unmasked and Elder) - that's 17 minutes of new music. It contains a new mix of Shout it out loud as well. So it's my number one compilation. But they have a lot of great compilations (better than ussual): Double Platinum, Smashes, Chikara and Kiss 40 all have some new tracks or mixes, and very interesting choices as well. One strange fact about Kiss is that their cd's are quite hard to find where I live (Sweden, Poland). Right now I can only find the classic one's from the 70s and Monster.
@@PiotrLangtvedt Music stores are going extinct in the US but the ones still around are usually pretty stocked with most Kiss studio albums. I luckily filled my collection fairly easy. Goldeneye and Casino Royale are post Dalton era movies and are also two of the best. I'd check them out even if your the most casual Bond fan. They were reboots and put new life in the series even if their sequels weren't that good.
@@BlackTerror No more music stores here either. I usually buy through the internet or at charity shops. Kiss is always hard to find. Many of the rock/hard rock/metal bands that are popular in the US aren't so pupular in Europe so it's difficult to find them here. The whole glam metal scene with Kiss, Poison, Def Leppard. Or some rock veterans like Aerosmith, Boston, The Who. Difficult to find them...
See, they knew it was better too! In my collection have almost all the remasters none of the original CD releases. Even though that would make a better album for me, being a completist I need the sub par original too in my collection. Pink Floyd did the same thing. Like always, I thank everyone for sharing a list! I love to analyze, compare and contrast them. Wow, Crazy Night #1! I love the out of the box picks. Revenge again with a low rank in another list. I’m starting to think my fandom for it is unique. Kiss is the only band I felt their live albums were important enough to the list and I can see you agree with your top 10. I think all the thumbs down I got were for where I put Unmasked. Another fan with it in the top 10. Elder usually gets ranked high too which I don’t understand but I think we can both agree its nothing special with your placement at #23.
Wen You Wish Apon A Star is my favorite song off Gene Simmons 78 solo album. Gene put his heart and soul into that song and it really shows in his voice. Underrated song
I'm 49. I remember every KISS album release since Destroyer in 1976. The solo albums of 1978 buried KISS at the time. Nobody really liked them back then. Ace's was the KISS album they should've made with Dynasty. Most of the KISS discography is mediocre. Enough great songs on them to merit a CD purchase. Destroyer Ressurected kicks ass.
Kiss is no doubt great but your right about the medicocrity, Almost every album had quality control issues. The fact that most of their album releases were nearly one a year I think their philosophy at times was have a hit single and the rest was “good enough”.
I agree totally..many fans weren't on board with the solo albums I remember that also..I believe all 4 solo albums together sold as many as 1 of their studio albums would of sold..I know I wasn't too happy with the solo albums and even today I hardly listen to any them..
I love them when they're good, but goddamn are their albums full of filler. They're glam era is equal parts laughable as much as its actually quite good. Just keep on keeping on brother!!
I think the amount of filler is a result of them cranking out albums nearly every year for 20 years. They probably only had 3-4 good ones written each cycle and if they waited would have had collections of much better material. Like combine the best stuff of Animalize and Asylum or Crazy Nights and Hot in the Shade.
@@BlackTerror yes exactly. I was just saying this the other day. A friend gave me all their 80s vinyl and I can't make it through a full album. They crank out yearly albums because that's their jobs. Make rock album, go on tour to support the album and their bank accounts, and then play all their best songs of the past and some of the better ones on the new album. A true formula that surprisingly didn't make them completely become irrelevant. I still like that they went glam though....for whatever reason haha.
@@MaskedManiacReviews I liked the glam era too, and particularly the pre glam Vinnie Vincent albums which led into it. Not top to bottom great albums but had some fun stuff on there like Crazy Nights and Heaven's on Fire.
Thank u for not putting Destroyer 1st! I love your top 4 picks.. Destroyer is overrated even though there is a few killer tracks on it ..I'm hearing Revenge is overrated by many fans? thats bullshit? Its 1 of the best Kiss albums and to me musically the best,Kulick and Singer are beasts on it
Destroyer is an album like Paranoid or Back in Black. Great albums but I heard the songs a million times and I’m kind of sick of them. If somebody played that in my car I’d turn it off. I need some deeper cuts man!
Unmasked so low got a like… Carnival of Souls deserves a higher list got you a this comment lol.. lots of KISS albums are super good but not to actually pay attention to. Carnival has a gooood jam vibe.. psycho circus is shit!!! Lol
Carnival is one of those albums I keep trying to really get into because its so unique for Kiss while other albums I totally dismiss. I throw it on my phone playlist at least once a year. One day I'll love it. Unmasked I'll never get into though. Others swear by it but I don't understand. Usually I love Ace's stuff the most but I don't like his songs at all on that one. Psycho Circus sadly hardly registers an opinion at all. It exists and I neither love it or hate it (even though I should, it's a cynical cash grab)

On the 1985 reissue of KISS, they swapped Nothing to Lose with the live version... Seems perfect for you
See, they knew it was better too! In my collection have almost all the remasters none of the original CD releases. Even though that would make a better album for me, being a completist I need the sub par original too in my collection. Pink Floyd did the same thing. They put the live version of Astronomy Domine on A Nice Pair, a reissue of the first two albums.
Nice video. I included MTV Unplugged.

There you go internet rip me apart lol
LOL! Love it! If anybody rips you up that's stupid because you proved your fanhood. You listed every album, gave them an order, and included controversial picks (Peter Criss at #13). Your not a real fan if you don't have any! Nobody wants to go on the car trip with somebody who throws on Back In Black. Show your a connoisseur and entertain everybody with Fly on the Wall!
Black Terror 100% agree. I love destroyer but I’d put on asylum 90% of the time over that, same thing with so many other bands love the first Van Halen record but I’ll listen to Fair Warning any day over that
@@trevorbullock281 The bigger fan isn't the guy who learned to play Stairway to Heaven, but the guy who has LZ's Hot Dog as his ringtone.
Black Terror u said it
Very interesting album. I haven’t listened to really any of the solo albums so I can’t say if they are good or bad. But this is my list of the studio albums, all alive albums, and I’m adding MTV unplugged as well
1. Crazy Nights (big glam/hair metal guy)
2. Dressed To Kill (2-6 could change)
3. Alive 2
4. KISS
5. MTV Unplugged
6. Alive
7. Destroyer
8. Creatures Of The Night
9. Unmasked
10. Alive 3
11. Animalize

21. Monster
22. Sonic Boom
23. Music From “The Elder”
24. Alive 4 (Symphony)
25. Carnival Of Souls
It really is amazing. I’m glad somebody else finds that song uplifting too. I thought I was the only one.
70s to me is their best era. Best riffs, best songs.
Agreed, but though they had some spotty output thereafter they had some classic songs in the 80’s. After Revenge not so much.
Knights In Satan's Service...🤘🏼😈🌙
@@BlackTerror well said! I totally agree with you
Unmasked so low got a like… Carnival of Souls deserves a higher list got you a this comment lol.. lots of KISS albums are super good but not to actually pay attention to.
@@BlackTerror I LOLd at “psycho circus hardly registers an opinion”
@@jigawho 👍
Dodgers? Kiss? Maiden? Dude...you're ok
Thank you very much!
Carnival of souls is far worse than unmasked .
While Carnival of Souls is not a good album I always give credit to Kiss every time they try to go harder.
