As someone who got here via the magic that is the youtube algorithm, this game is borderline incomprehensible. Like, the concept is simple enough, it's chess with wonky pieces, but... why? This game seems like it would be crazy frustrating.
I used to play this on kongregate when it came out and some of the designed pieces were made by people in the community during events, you could just email the devs a piece you thought was cool or good or whatever and they’d look at it. Very fun to play with a community made chess game
i just got into this game and tbh it does a decent job of making things at least a little more understandable than it looks the blue and red squares showing what spaces are threatened by each player does help alot in making things more readable its still confusing a lot of the time but its not like unplayable levels of confusing
i think it's pretty mean spirited given that, the game is extremely cool in a Magic the Gathering kinda way. you build your deck/army, and you have a winrate in a random pool of other decks/armies, and your in-game skill is only a factor against your army-creation strategy and "tournament luck". and the game is being profited from here (in a social sense, at least). Icely seems totally horrified about the idea that a game positions itself as hardcore / memey while also seeming to love the ess out of the game.

the problem with the awet lore video is that the objective reality is so ridiculous I might look like a hack political/drama streamer for just stating what happened (people will think I'm lying or exaggerating the actual events), it's so unbelievable, the inventor of CBA videos and awe videos might need to be locked behind a massive sub goal or something I can't, I just can't awe is going to stay an ultimate inside joke
