'Hyper-Nationalism Making India Intolerant, Arrogant, Insecure': Hamid Ansari I Karan Thapar

- In the interview to The Wire, Mr. Ansari says that one of the outcomes of this hyper-nationalism is “a subversion of core values” which is “now underway”. He says this means our commitment to the principles and values of our constitution is weakening and diminishing.
One of the consequences of core values being “subverted” is how we regard secularism. He says: “The term secularism itself has almost disappeared from the government’s official vocabulary”. In its place “the politico-ideological effort now (is) is to superimpose …. the primacy of a religious majority”.

The sad irony is, Civil Servants, Law Enforcement Officers, Judges, and now an Ex President, develop a back-bone, but only after retiring/leaving office. He spoke about an India, unsafe for minorities, but only when he was leaving office.

@@lbsnaa_11 I respect you Mr Khushaan for your views but this is my view. If question will be asked in nice way so answer will also get in a nice way. The way aman was asking the question was not right . Hamid ansari is educated person he knows well what is wrong and what is right. So whatever he told in his last speech he said correct.He never used word "Muslim" instead he used minorities and in India there so many minorities including Schedule cast,Christians,Muslims and many more . We have to see what hamid ansari did for the country and for the welfare of the country.Whatever he told in his last speech It was right Mr Khushaan.We have to see Hamid ansari what good work he did when he was Ambassdor to many countries and when he was Vice President of India The way Aman was asking question to him was not correct.

So what wrong Hamid ansari did at that time? He told to India after the incident took place . If Hamid was wrong in Iran so Mr. Aman should asked him about the incident.
