My mum used to play this album in the car and I remember just loving it and I've recently rediscovered it and explored the rest of her work and she's truly an artistic genius
'Hounds of Love' is one of the very few albums that actually warrants discussion and dissection on both an artistic and intellectual level without coming across as a pretentious twat when doing so. I thoroughly enjoyed this video.
Great analysis. This is one of my Top 5 favorite albums of all time. I came here for the Madonna reviews and then I saw this! I fell in love with Kate in 1985, when I was 19. Not having the internet to research her and not being able to find her prior work was very frustrating time for me being such a huge fan back then. Nobody in the states knew about her so I couldn’t talk about her either. I could only fill in the blanks with my imagination. Finally, in America you could get her Best of called The Whole Story, so these two CDs were a huge part of my early 20s. All these years later, Hounds of Love is still a masterpiece.
Please watch the live video of and dream of sheep: Kate Bush recorded a video of 'And Dream Of Sheep' in 2014, to be shown during the Before The Dawn shows in London, 2014. She spent three days in a special tank at Pinewood Studios. In the video, Bush is in a lifejacket floating in water, looking up at the camera as if waiting to be rescued, singing the song live.
I was one of the very lucky people that got a ticket to one of her shows, since all of the tickets sold out in 15 minutes! It was an absolute fantastic experience to finally see Kate in a live performance.
As many times as I’ve listened to this album I never really understood the shift between the first and second half. Thank you!! It all makes sense to me now!!
I was hoping to see you reviewing Kate Bush discography because she seems such an interesting artist! I am not really familiar yet with her music but I have just discovered her album "Aerial" and it instantly became one of my favorite albums ever. I hope you will review "Aerial" too, I'm curious about your opinion! :)
Just start from the beginning. But get ready for The Dreaming from 1982. Your ears will never been the same again lol. It's an awesome album. In terms of music, it's actually quite accessible but challenging. Kate was always the only Producer on her music. She was always in control.
@@Skiptondesigns Of all her albums "The Dreaming" is one that I play the most and it play it LOUD! I do regard it as a classic album and I think that finally that it's getting more appreciation of what a fantastic body of work it is.
The 9th wave gives me goose bumps every time I listen to it. It's gorgeous - especially the cord changes in the last 1/2 of hello earth especially at 5:30. Total perfection.
yes! another classic album and another great review. I absolutely loooove this album and think Kate Bush is the most underrated artist of all time. Please do some Mariah Carey reviews, another underrated songwriter!

Mrs. Bartolozzi is oddly one of the greatest songs ever written.
Aerial's second side is stunning.
