It was stated in the reason for its revelation: It came down in the year in which sorrows gathered in the heart of the prophet Mohammed- peace be upon him - and the torment of the polytheists intensified for him and his companions, and he had lost Khadija and his uncle Abu Talib, so it came to comfort the heart of Mohammed - pbuh- and to lighten his burden. Once, when I was studying the Quran, my teacher advised us that whenever we’re having a hard time or feeling sad, we should read Surah Yusuf. By the end of the surah, you will feel better .
There's so many lessons to extract from his story don't forget about forgiveness when he becomes an extremely powerful person in Egypt and allows his brothers to take grains, he could've absolutely destroyed them and made their lives miserable but he did not he forgave them for all the stunts they pulled

This story shows Allah's infinite compassion, and the importance of having humility. Those women who cut their hands were gossiping about Zulaika (ra), regarding her chasing after her slave. The point of him walking in front of them was to show their ignorance. They would have likely done the same in her place, as his beauty was unmatched and could literally numb all the other senses. They imprisoned Joseph (ra) because they didn't know what else to do with him.

The story of Yusuf (as) in the Quran always makes me tear up He endured a lot in his lifetime. This also goes for the story of Maryam the mother of Isa (Jesus), there’s an entire Surah (19) named after her. What she went through and what Prophet Isa (as) went through is nothing but a miracle. May Allah make us one of the righteous and give us patience on this earth.

My parents left me some time ago, and reading Surah Yusuf often brings me to tears. I think, during all the prophet that time they dont call it trauma, they have thing called keep praying.
When it comes to the lives of Yusif pbuh and Muhammad saw pbuh, there are many parallels in both of their lives. They went through similar issues and hardships that further elevated them. It’s beautiful with the forgiveness portrayed by them both. Especially the messenger Muhammad saw. May Allah bless you and further increase you in knowledge, understanding, wisdom, and implementation of Allahs commands. I pray Allah makes it easy for you and strengthen you to learn Arabic and understand it. It’s so much different feeling and hearing it when you have understood it in Arabic as well as English.
That quote about not having anything to fear is so imbedded into my identity as a muslim. As a child i almost drowned taken by the sea tide, and i remember telling myself: why am i nervous? Do i fear pain? If i die the pain will pass, i can brave it, the only thing scary about pain is that it would not end. So if it’s not pain, is it death i fear? Or being alone once i die? No, because i firmly believe I won’t be alone or scared once i am dead. So what an I fighting against? Fear itself is my enemy, because it doesn’t exist. We can only fear Allah but if you are by his side, you can only be grateful and content. Fear doesn’t really exist. In this moment i felt completely calm and got the determination to shout for help despite the fact that i was too far from the beach for anyone to hear me. Luckily there was a swimmer that heard me and saved me. My dad always used to tell me…why are you scared of cockroaches? You are a muslim, you should fear nothing. Fear is but an illusion from your mind. It definitely has helped me in my life, knowing that when im scared of something, i have an immediate way out of it, and if i choose to stay in fear, is because im playing the victim.

Hey Brother, I am glad to hear. It is very rare to see people apply the quranic stories correctly, in order to get a lesson out of it. I like your interpretation. The Quran is scared, and you will notice among muslims, the majority of them have abandoned the quran and rank it second behind hearsay called hadith. They adhere to traditions, that our prophet may or may not have said or lived out more than they adhere to the quran. That is why muslims have so many problems nowadays. If muslims returned to the quran and used it for personal guidance, the world would be a much better place.

There's an incredible Iranian series about the whole story of prophet Youssef. i highly recommend , it's called "Prophet Joseph" (2008)

No, because i firmly believe I won’t be alone or scared once i am dead. So what an I fighting against? Fear itself is my enemy, because it doesn’t exist. We can only fear Allah but if you are by his side, you can only be grateful and content. Fear doesn’t really exist.
In this moment i felt completely calm and got the determination to shout for help despite the fact that i was too far from the beach for anyone to hear me. Luckily there was a swimmer that heard me and saved me.
My dad always used to tell me…why are you scared of cockroaches? You are a muslim, you should fear nothing. Fear is but an illusion from your mind.
It definitely has helped me in my life, knowing that when im scared of something, i have an immediate way out of it, and if i choose to stay in fear, is because im playing the victim.

The Quran is scared, and you will notice among muslims, the majority of them have abandoned the quran and rank it second behind hearsay called hadith. They adhere to
traditions, that our prophet may or may not have said or lived out more than they adhere to the quran. That is why muslims have so many problems nowadays. If muslims returned to the quran and used it for personal guidance, the world would be a much better place.
