This is a painting of an imaginary golden bird. I loosely used the photo of a Silver Breasted Broadbill as a reference. For this painting, I decided to focus more on the Orange/Coral color.
As always I let the painting guide me as to what it needs and just go with the flow. I paint whatever I'm feeling without really worrying whether it looks realistic or not.
P.S. And remember that... it's OK to start ugly!
