Todos los días, los más grandes productos y servicios que hacen uso de inteligencia artificial, encuentran la manera de decepcionarnos. Con el lanzamiento del Rabbit R1 y el Humane AI Pin, se ha visto cómo la IA aplicada está sobrevalorada, y me pregunto, hasta qué punto empezaremos a ver productos realmente útiles. Cruzo mis dedos al pensar en GitHub Copilot Workspaces, y espero que esta sea una herramienta que traiga demasiado valor a mi profesión de desarrollador.

Debemos sumarle que las empresas que están desarrollando los modelos LLM se gastan cantidades ridiculas de procesamiento llevando todo al límite (incluido los bolsillos de los inversionistas), y lo que tenemos como resultado aún no es para alucinar.

Es cierto, y el consumo energetico de esos modelos es insostenible. Mark Zuckerbeg hablaba en un podcast hace poco de como el entrenamiento de modelos avanzados puede consumir 1 Gigawatt the energia, la misma energia para potenciar 750 mil hogares. Escalar la AI es extremadamente dificil y costoso.
