    I had a Jet JS300 earlier in the year. I had to sell it to pay an urgent bill at the time but I played it constantly. Great couch guitar. You're tempting me to get another.

      Maybe, just maybe, other makers and / or factories COULD make them this well but just don't feel they have to bother or, are rushing to meet a Quota or Deadline. When Gibson pushed the Quota system on their craftsmen their Quality began to decline.

    I recently got a 2020 Chinese Classic Vibe Telecaster and I hated the fret ends but once I polished it up and upgraded it, it was the best guitar and it held well with a set of 10s. 9 was too slinky. If I didn't get this I was thinking of a jet. Solid gold!

    1mm on the 12th fret is awesome for such a cheap guitar. Doesn’t get much better than that to be honest. Although some buzz is perfectly acceptable if it’s not heard through the amp.

    Very Cool, Thankyou John. Congrats on New Guitar. Stunning looking and Sounding Guitar and Playing as always. I Like the colour. Positions 2 and 4 really have an amazing 'out of sync' type sound, very cool. $400- to $500- Online in Australia, Price seems a bit elevated to exchange rates, more Than the Artist Guitars comparative 'Strat'. All The Best. Cheers

    If you sift through Dave Simpsons vids you'll find he has gigged his green one. I bought one about 12 months ago and still have it, good bang for your buck as the saying goes. I recently bought a JS450 a step up 'imho' from the JS300.

    Hi John, that's got to be a great deal for a that price. A few years ago I'm sure I would have loved it. It's not that I don't like those out of phase sounds but these days I just don't want to play with them. I've got a few quid coming my way toward the end of next year so it will be time to get a quality guitar at last. If you had asked me 20 years ago what I wanted then I would have said a Strat without hesitating. If next year you decided you wanted to find a new home for your Les Paul (a pig just flew over Robson Towers!) then that would do just fine. See you tomorrow.

    I personally really wish prs had an option for a chunkier neck on their silver sky guitars. I like the thicker necks on their 245 and 594’s. For a strat, i have a squier cv70 that has a fairly chunky neck and it plays really well. And ive only got a little over $400 in the squier. I am debating dropping some upgraded pickups in it, even tho it really doesnt need them. More of a want honestly.

    😮 There are after market replacement necks that go for more than that, and that's just the neck alone! Out of interest, do you think you might do a demo on a kit guitar? May be towards the summer when the weather is good?

    Nothing else makes that S-Style sound! It's that whole weird mixture that Leo came up with.......While I'm NOT a Fan of the Fender versions that I had attempted to bond with....(I found a fantastic U.S. made G & L!) I do need some version of it to round out my Guitar Tool Box! That one sound great. I'm surprised to hear that the pickups have ceramic pickups! Huh!!! (I am rather prejudiced toward translucent finishes to be able to see some decent wood grain... but that's just my weird preference!) Put some graphite in those nut slots.

    • @JRobsonGuitar
      @JRobsonGuitar  11 месяцев назад +1

      When did I trash the strat? You must have missed the point somewhat. At no point did I say "strats are awful" or anything to that effect. I'm willing to bet that there are certain styles of guitar that appeal to you, personally, less than others. For me, it's s-type guitars which excite me less than Les Pauls or Telecasters. Hence the title of the video. I have heard nothing but great reviews of this guitar so I was curious if this one is the instrument that would light my fire for strats. Nothing more than that. You seem to be suggesting I was saying that Stratocaster style guitars are inferior and you should buy something else. At no point did I say this.

    I hear what you are saying about the Sire. Sadly I'm the kind of person who is really put off by the wrong appearance and I think that the Sires are ugly and have none of the classic style of the Strat.

  • @brynjones7371
    @brynjones7371 11 месяцев назад +1

    You're a smashing guitarist John but that strat copy sounds very thin and tinny .£150 makes it a value guitar for beginners but surely not for stage players. Happy Xmas.

    Those ceramic pups are no bueno. Granted, my Strat is a Made In America (MIA). My Sire 7, made in Indonesia, sounds 95% better. My Squire Classic Vibe, made in Indonesia, is 90% better. Return it. Christmas party with the chaps is money better sent.🎉

    • @robertlennox3607
      @robertlennox3607 11 месяцев назад

      The rosewood fingerboard version of this would be the point of difference with the classic vibe. The latest classic vibes are all laurel fingerboards, which are terrible compared to rosewood (even with the ceramic pickups)

      I’m a lefty, so good relatively cheap strat style guitars are very hard to get.
