I finally decided to grab the Mustang and wow it sounds so angry and I love it! It's a bit hard to drive, but feels great! I can get it loose and save it most of the time... I even managed some clean laps on my first day with it at the Nordschleife! I'm not the fastest, but not too bad for an old guy! 😊
It's great to see the Supercars getting some love here and on iRacing. As a UK fan I've loved watching V8 Supercars racing for decades. Best "touring car" racing in the world IMO... and I'm thoroughly enjoying the Gen3 on iRacing. It's more forgiving to drive than Gen2 was. However what absolutely boggles my mind is why in 2023 the Supercars higher-ups decided to stick with using such antiquated tech as a spool? Really? Why? I would seriously like to know, but I've yet to find anything searching the internet that explains this bizzare decision. It can't possibly be a cost issue as it would simply be a spec part that everyone has to use, just like the current transaxle... and it's not like better solutions like limited slip diffs have just been invented by some boffin in Formula 1 last year. In general I like the raw and less complicated ethos of the cars, but come on Supercars, get out of the stone ages and use a proper racecar diff will ya. 😉 Additionally, IMO it would make the cars even more fun to drive 😁... which can only benefit long term participation on iRacing too. I'm certainly not saying make the cars easy to drive with ABS, TC etc as I love the raw, drivers car that they are, but for goodness sake... a spool? ... in this day and age? Really? That boggles my noodle. Have fun out there everyone, I know I am 😀
That point in second gear when you see one set of green lights, then suddenly you see three sets, the back tires are smoking and you grab a handful of opposite lock
@OverTake_gg thank you Emily. I am learning the Porsche Cup car and have applied your tips. Finally, I can pull the Porsche up at the end of Conrod Straight... Auto Blip was key. Cheers
🖐️ I have a question about the the setups. You mentioned that the setups are the same, do you mean you can share setups between the two different cars?
I can’t afford a wheel. What game is best for an Xbox controller so I don’t feel bad all the time? So far it seems like Forza, Grid Legends and those types of arcade games are the only thing for controllers
@ I love the immersion of F1 23 and ACC but with a controller they’re so hard. Next best is Grid Legends which is fun and lends more to being less precise
You probably won't see this as I'm 3 weeks late. But this American might want to stop being a big baby and give these cars a crack. I'm doubting there will be enough participation on the US servers to be worth the purchase. As far as racing on the Australian servers, I have two concerns: 1- It's 8am in Sidney when it's 3pm in US Central time (would I find racers at that time or earlier, my best times?). 2- Will the ping be too high to support a decent net-code? If you happen to see this, I would be grateful for a response. Thanks so much for everything!
iracing could have made this car much more accessible by bumping the throttle percentage while using auto-blip, with auto-blip your braking distances aren't even close to manually blipping, and because you chirped the tires while braking, you'll suffer in the corner because the tires are just gone, such a shame
I just don't understand the subtle drifting nature of it. You can't drive it like any other car (prob cuz the rear axle) and I just can't find the line between taking turns too cautious and too drifty and spinning out. I also stay away from 2nd gear on turn exit which 1: loses me time but 2: ensures I live to fight the next corner. All the while all these crazy Aussies veering around me like water around a rock
It's not because of the spool diff, go on assetto corsa and do some laps in the spool diff turbo porsches, you'll get oversteer but it's controllable unlike iracing
@@birdseye2239 Not the horsepower nor the torque, both the 962 and the 935 have more hp and torque with worse tires, iracing's tire model just make these sort of cars incredibly twitchy. This is the best car on iRacing!
Gotta tell em to stop being babies! Love it!
The old Supercar, and the same goes with this one, is my Dark Souls.
Great video as always Emily.
Beware of the DROP BEARS! :P -Michel
Top work by the editor on this one, genuine lol.
Who or what are the drop bears?
@@speedtracker9556 They are featured in the video
I shall indeed give it a fair go, thanks Emily.
@TeamHorneyRacing honestly they are so fun give it a crack around Bathurst
I remember when the janitor at my school got a new red Mustang Mach 1. I think that was in 1968 or so. Wow!
This cars announcement made me start driving more road races rather than just oval
Loving learning the new supercar atm but wish iracing would hurry up and give us more aussie & kiwi tracks that they're raced on irl
Outstanding work, a lot of good well explained information. thank you.
American here... I Love the car
Well done Emily. Lovin both Supercars in OZ

Who from America is saying they have too much power? Immediately disowned! Ship them to Canada.
Great tips. Thanks.
Thanks for the tips. Always helps. Keep up the great content 👏
Emily's fastest lap in the Race for Mental Health will always be the fondest memory I had from that race
Quality content. Thanks so much! This car is crazy fun, maybe I'll get it fast enough to actually race anything other than the AI now.

The return of the fingergun lady racer. ❤💚🖤
Be sick if you guys could do setups vids for the cars
