My second video comparing the beta versions of WWF No Mercy to the final retail version, and even comparing to WWF Wrestlemania 2000, to show off early similarities. This video contains lots of differences, from game menus, unused options, unfinished text, attires, entrances, create a superstar mode, arenas and more! 🔵 PART 1 ruclips.net/video/2HhHG7cA7QY/видео.html
Seeing this video really makes me realize how much care/ work when into the making of this game. They had no reason to make the game as good as it was but they did anyway so it def deserves the reputation it has
@@purestformofpeace Thanks! I was really hoping it would make TV. Hart breaking that it didn't. I hope to see him in The Wrestling Code game along side DDP. That will at least wash the taste his last game being WCW Backstage Assault. For a company that's all about big dollar TV deals, the WWE had no vision. How toyetic is Mortis? They did comic books for a bit. Mortis would have fit right in.
@@EliteEasyE You're welcome! It would've so cool for sure. Imo Mortis was one of the coolest looking characters/ costumes of all time. I get the NWO made WCW move away from the more cartoon characters but it would've been great if he would've gone back to it at some point. That'd be awesome! I completely agree. R.I.P Kanyon 🙏
@@purestformofpeace I kinda like AEW's mix and I think Impact was doing it first and longer. They have their gothy peeps but they also have the Eddie Kingston/Moxley types that are just under their real names and just want to fight. When they do interact it ought to be interesting.
After 20 years AEW is working on a their own part two- a spiritual successor to No Mercy by Yuke's with No Mercy's director Hideyuki Iwashita aka Geta-san as a development advisor.
From what I know, No Mercy was originally supposed to be known as SmackDown! 64. It shows with how the early menus looked with the cyber theme to them along with the bright blue lights. Not sure why they changed it. No one has asked Sanders Keel about it. I’d say it was better for this game to be on its own instead of being apart of another series that was primarily on another console.
Unfortunately Big Show was taken out of the game because he was sent to OVW to lose weight and improve on his attitude issues. So his WWF storyline was replaced by....Steven Richards?
@@josephmarino310 Oh yeah definitely..his T-Shirt and face (I think) is in the game along with his Chokeslam and taunts. While they removed him at the last minute, remnants of him are still there.
Read a theory that it was because Richards wasn't involved in any heavyweight title story lines so that made him easy to plug in. I'll just add that he was a huge heel on TV, as well.
@@EliteEasyE Oh yeah, he was one of the biggest heat magnets of the year with Right To Censor. Plus there wasn't any viable heel the fill Show's position at the time, so they went with him.
Those doors backstage are still present; The camera is angled facing the other way in that early shot, as those are the doors to the stage. You see them during some story cutscenes. Also, the other doors do close during some story missions
Idk whats more crazy, the fact that no one has made a mod or hack that makes the rock's elbow pad go away during the people's elbow in this iconic game yet or the fact that this guy released another video on this in 2020
The Rock's entrance animation is still in WWF No Mercy. You just have to go to edit and change the entrance to The Rock. The Rock's entrance animation is set to None by default.
3:01 Okay but I had WWF No Mercy and had a VERY vivid childhood memory of making the Rock naked, putting him in a match and having the game crash as he entered the ramp! It SCARRED me and made me think I had sinned and that's why the game crashed 😭
Check these out, two of my older videos, ruclips.net/video/-qvPsfhTIN4/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/31iQqFvNB-w/видео.html. The animations are glitchy and broken obviously from being unfinished, but you get the idea of where they were wanting to go.
I’ve always loved your videos, especially the ones covering early versions of these games, but… how come you never explained where/how you got these early, in game screenshots (maybe even the early builds themselves)? That aside, I’m just grateful three builds have finally been put out there.
Unfortunately, it's been confirmed by a producer who worked for THQ that it never existed. No Mercy was always the last planned WWF game for the Nintendo 64.

1:05 The Beta Rock looking at how his final product shot came out and not pleased...
I kind’ve prefer the Beta Menus, very ‘90s aesthetic
They're very 'SmackDown'-esque
@@WrestlingVideoGames That's what I thought with all the blue

And Smackdown Mall to me sorta is more evidence of that
It's unlikely that AKI would've been able to secure the rights to a series by Yuke's.
I really wish the final version had full entrances

Wish we could get footage of what those entrances would have looked like. Probably not that different from WM2000 but still.
