Diy bike trailer

  • I made this bicycle trailer out of scrap 1" square steel tube for the trailer body frame and bike hitch and 1 1/2" round steel tube for the tongue. The tires and wheels were from a bicycle I bought on Craigs. I use a tie rod end on the bike hitch for my axis. Trailer is not complete. Have to finish painting it and decide what I will do for the floor. I wanted to make something that is customizable and able to change easily. One week I may use it to tow my dog around. Another week to bring home lumber from the hardware store. Please Like and subscribe to my channel. I will be adding more videos soon. Thanks for watching. Message me with any questions.

    Strong and mean little trailer with a low centre of gravity. Obviously doggy wants a go on the back. Show us some go pro doggy carrier footage with smiling doggy. ❤️🙏🏽

    I would get a trailer something like this that is strong and sturdy that can hold up to so many pounds where I can take my recycle cans and cash them in for money that way I wouldn't have to rely on anybody but has to be on a nice day but I don't have that because I live in the apartment life but I still have a mountain bike but I plan on getting me some kind of trailer that folds up into the apartment life and then that way I can slide it underneath the bed and the wheels comes off

    Very sturdy, I'm looking for ideas on my own bike trailer for multiple reasons, dog trips, to hauling lawn mowers, but I wanna be able to break mine down to become a shelter.
    Rather simple, probably use basic solid body design like yours, but use PVC to add overall shape, aswell to break down into tent poles and tarp cover. One question though I'm worrying about using the side hitch, I would think the seat pole hitch would hold more weight.

    • @igottamakethat7780
      @igottamakethat7780  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks for comment. That is a cool idea. Yeah I have seen the seat post style hitch, they may be stronger I just don't care much for the look. Yes it is solid and heavy. I used the steel I had on hand just wanted to do a project. I need to do a follow up video to show how it looks now, and my dog riding on it.

      He built it in his garage using the tools available so yeah, DIY. While not everyone has the same tools, the concepts are the same. Instead of a saw, I'd use an angle grinder for the cuts. A stick welder instead, etc. If you don't have 1" square steel, use round or whatever you have on hand - as mentioned in the description, it was what he had available. No grinder? Use a hacksaw. It's perfectly possible to build this yourself. Hell, if you can't get a welder (they're so cheap these days and there are plenty of DIY versions you can build too) then make brackets and BOLT the thing together. Use your brain and stop being a Moaning Myrtle
