This would be the pedal I would buy today as a starter metal guitarist. Way back I bought a Line6 Spider amp with the Slipknot, Fear Factory, Maiden etc presets that still works today and is great for at home use. Something made out of plastic doesn't mean it's bad. Look at the Zoom camera's all plastic but fantastic. 🤘🏻
The lack of ability to put IRs on it is kind of "That's how they get ya',"but at that price point one can't complain too much. If you need IRs then Line 6 has other things you can buy. If you already have IRs then you probably already have some device that covers the ground this pedal doesn't and you're not buying this pedal for the need for IRs and more advanced functions. If I really wanted a certain IR I had on it I'd just fire up the pedal/app with the IR , look at the settings, and copy it over as close as possible by hand to the Black's app. Cool pedal. Great review. I'd like to see you review the Five Watt World/Barber "Buss" and "Plus" pedals.
Got around to ordering one of these earlier in the week and it arrived yesterday. I haven’t had a chance to play with the editor app properly yet but so far I’m loving it. For the money I don’t think you can fault it. Sounds great and it’s perfect for a quick go to practice tool. Recommended 😁
It wouldn't surprise me if they added IR support in the future. That said, the Line6 cab modelling has come really far, and I use it over my IRs these days. In terms of sub bass and the ultra high end, I'm usually filtering that stuff out anyways and you normally would in a live or mix setting, so I don't see it as a big deal.
I was sold when I heard Diezel. For real though, something like this is perfect for a fly rig or even a backup. I love building tiny pedalboards without compromising tones so this is right up my alley. Glad I waited for the "heavier" version.
This pedal/modeler sounds fantastic! The whole feature set is killer for the $$$ too - especially with stereo output, a built in looper, it can act as a headphone amp, USB interface and has pretty much every basic amp and effect you need for most metal sounds. I would have preferred an all metal housing though. Maybe using an aftermarket DIY steel case is possible...
omg I have an old Ibanez that was black then painted white with a red pearl and I sanded through the clear on accident and dont have the means to paint match and your guitar just inspired me on what to do moving forward
Plastic housings work fine for studio use. I own a certain super fuzz pedal by a budget brand known for their plastic housing and its great for the bedroom studio or even a big studio. So my point being plastic is fine. Exspecially if brings down the price
I've got the HX stomp in my rack rig. My real Mesa Recto pre on the left channel and hx revv purple on the right with gates on both sides for snapshot 1, us princess on snapshot 2 for cleans, snapshot 3 adds effects to the dirty channel, all into my mesa 2:90. It's given new life into my rack and the pres' and pedals are very convincing compared to the real amps. Line 6 products are the best bang for the buck additions you can get for your studio or rig.
Digital delay on the old line 6 pod xt is amazing still one of the best I have used apart from the old ibanez 19 inch rack mount digital delay that was on par also the volume pedal on the short board was probably the best volume pedal for many years too
Your bass heavy impulses would sound great with this thing. The tone would darken up a bit and round off the top end fizz. Might need to try that with an Ir loader and hear the result
great playing 🤘 these small things are becoming more and more quite badass at the moment I like more tonex one for the price or full tonex paired with another full modeler/pedalboard for the effects
Follow up on this pedal. After a few days is simple and sounds good. It works well with the iPad also for travel. Spark go and this and evo 8 and an iPad you are good to go.
Line6, constantly sharpening their axe! This sounds FABULOUS! I actually was thinkin of sellin my PodGo full size floorboard and this looks small, compact, perfect🌅😛
I was trying out a Positive Grid Spark yesterday and was enjoying it. I think you can get a bluetooth foot switch for it but I need to find out if it has spillover on the effects because that’s a dealbreaker for me.
I bought one tonight for travel. It’s really simple and I like the interface better then the pod go. Circles are better than lines for adjusting things. The human mind is strange that way.
If that box can be used like a reamp box like how a Boss Katana amp can through USB then that is an absolutely good compact home or remote production tool.
If I become a successful day trader I have two dreams 1. is buying a Solar guitar and the other is buying a 1977 Pontiac Firebird. In the mean time will just keep showing up for my Gov't job.

Wow! Just wow. Line 6! I have the red one and will now get the black too. As a hobbyist, I don't need much more!
Same here. Got the red and now ordered the black! ❤ for affordable line 6 products!
Pod... that takes me back. The red kidney bean that could do it all.... 😂
...and nothing :)
Ola did a video about it where he added modern IR's and it sounded great :)
Solid shit, liquid diarrhea, dry droppings, slippery nuggets, that thing had it all!
@JohnLloydDavis the speakers have always been the downfall of Pod units even helix.
Ye olde baboon butt.
Hey Ola, you should do a tutorial on programming the drums, they SMASH
99% thats mdl tone

Wish I had one when I was learning, shit sounds too good compared to what was available for that price in the 90s
My main amps are an old HD147 and a Spider valve MkII HD100 head.
Never at a loss for tones and ill likely get this pedal.
Sound goood. Really cool. And nice song in the intro!
Wow, looking at the amp and pedal models in the manual this looks super versatile. Definitely gonna be picking one up.
Pretty cool. What I was looking for. More than perfect for practicing with headphones and laying down ideas.
That's a paradox.
You know it’s gonna be a good day when ola’s playing in drop C
Sounds great and of course the playing is savage!!!! 🙌❤

Definitely one good thing about reviewing a product that you were sent (as opposed to paid for): a true stomp test. Appreciate that, Ola. 🦶💥

Might be right lol... I can only find normal(red) and bass models
They just announced it this morning
It's scheduled for release early 2025, it says...
its on the website...he released this vid on press release day
sweetwater oct 24th
I like the way you step on it to see if it's really durable.. nice
6:36 Ola I just figured out, the 2nd page is for when you have the window smaller and can't fit all of the controls.
all that stuff in one tiny pedal? man...kids of today have it rly easy
budget guitars came up too!
I wondering if kids would see this like we did with the Zoom505 back in the day.
Why kids.??....we ALL got it good!!

Ok it looks cool but how does it stack up against the Tone one or Boss IR-2 time for a shootout methinks….
Hell yeah that petrucci bit there was 🤌🏻.. I think I felt a tear rolling down my face 😂😢 all hail the trucch 🤘🏻

Very awesome ola awesome metal tonnes
Please do a video on your entire process of getting such professional sounding results! Bands with expensive studios aren't sounding as good 😊
Sounds good, will you be doing a video on the boss gx10?
Ola, you're crazy... but very honest and fair!
i love line 6 pedals but i have been burned so many times in terms of durability.
Sounds pretty cool. Sad it can't load IRs?
i cant lie i really really like these pod express pedals. fully passable tones at stupid cheap prices is just *chefs kiss*
Really liking that relic geetar.
This will pair with my OG HD147 and Spider Valve MkII nicely.
That riff is a sick'a'doodle!

hi! awesome. Do you return the unit after using it? If you don't choose to purchase it? Thanks!

Sounds really really good!
Well dang it! If I had know this was gonna come out I would have not purchased the red one. My wallet is gonna hate me.
Neat looking guitar particularly the headstock design🤘

Essential effects for metalhead that don't want to spend lot of money on Helix.
No post editing of course

Nice tunes out of this one 🤘
The only criteria required by us metalheads to classify a tone as clean is a lack of distortion. 🤣🤣🤣
The only thing holding me back getting one is the plastic build quality
If you can't load in your ir, would it let you turn off its cab so you can use a separate ir loader?
And what about clean tone? Very used in metal !!
Could Metallica s one intro sound good?
Did they retain the classic Line 6 'Treadplate' amp model?
Your bendings are hypnotic
How do the amp models compare to an Axe FX 2 Xl+? Serious question.
