While I don't 100% agree on some of the Rift Apart points, I still really enjoy both games! But more importantly, I'm glad I was able to work on this video! It was a really good change of pace for me, and I hope you guys enjoy! :)
I think part of maturing is understanding that flaws/imperfections in art/fiction are perfectly harmless, and are not the horrific sins which the hyperbolic internet always tries to claim they are. And I think you express that very well here how the merits of A Crack in Time truly radiated, and why it was so special to you, even to this day. Thanks for sharing~
Insomniac Games or some other owned PlayStation company like Bluepoint Games should really make a Future Saga disc collection with the inclusion of Into the Nexus (to make up how short Quest for Booty is) and trophies for TOD and QFB.
A Crack in Time is a fantastic game with arguably the best story in the franchise. Everything about from the very first cutscene and intro level just screams EPIC and GRAND! Though as a Ratchet and Clank veteran, my biggest gripe was that it always felt too short. Not enough planets/levels. However the explorable space sections and moons mostly made up for it. I’ll never forget the platforming challenges on the moons using the hover boots while listening to Deep Space Jams. Such fond memories. Even though the ending was picture perfect for the duo, I’m glad Insomniac Games kept the series alive and still going for future generations to enjoy them. Overall, A Crack in Time was/is fantastic!
I have played it on 2013 as I was new to Ratchet & Clank at the time. I am familiar a bit but playing the original trilogy, up to Tools of Destruction and finally A Crack in Time as it was quite an exciting experince and also became my favorite game for a while, until Marvel's Spider-Man PS4 earn that title for me and still will be my fav PlayStation game period. :D A Crack in Time is very great and you did very good with the video, from the character development of Ratchet & Clank and the theme of fatherhood plus the message it has, Dr Nefarious at his best as a villain, the gameplay being the best and finding the Zoni, Gold Bolts and others, I even manage to 100% it and have a great time overall. Do hope the game along with the Future saga to be re-release on PS4/5. It really deserves it.
Crazy to think this game is 15 years old?!?! Anyways great video! Loved hearing all of the different thoughts from you and other fans, ACiT is always gonna have a special place in my heart 😭❤️
One of the best games I ever played!! It was the game that got me into the whole series when my dad showed me the ratchet demo to crack in time! The space exploration is definitely my favorite feature! Nothing like exploring moons and listening to jazz!!
I’ll be really honest. I’ve only played a crack in time twice throughout my whole life. It’s the same with all the other games released during the PS3 era. With maybe the exception of quest for booty and I was highly anticipated a crack in time and playing the previous title over and over again. I played the PS2 games on repeat as a kid however. More times than you could count lol
This was a great video to commemorate an anniversary of a game everyone really liked. A game at a time where it was considered true peak in a beloved franchise. I only started playing Ratchet and Clank back in 2014 with the PS3 HD collection. Since then I have played all the mainline titles in the order they released. And one or two spinoffs in between. And have been a devoted fan from there. I had no nostalgia towards them other than being perfectly aware of the series since inception on the PS2. But never checked out the games until later. When I got to A Crack In Time, it just stood out to me the most after having experienced it. And it also happens to be the only entry in the series that I bothered to platinum. Lol And even the lead up from playing Tools of Destruction, and Quest for Booty, I knew I was in for a treat the way they been building up to this game specifically. And how it outright delivered in scope. I knew going in it was a special epic scale game, but had no context as to what the hype was. Just excitement. And afterwards, it was like dang. I see what everyone was saying. It just left the biggest impression for all the reasons everyone praised it for. And it’s still my favorite to this day having played all the important games. It was the perfect what was once a wrap up to the Future Saga. But of course there was Into The Nexus so on.
A crack in time was one of my very first PS3 games and one of the best games in my opinion. 😊 I hope they re-release the R&C future trilogy in a collection for the PS5.
I have you question Miharu? Does the Ratchet and Clank was the 22 years anniversary in 2002 Miharu, by Sony Interactive Entertainment on the PlayStation 2?
I usually say ACiT was/is the last RaC since it always felt like a good closing to our duo like most of the people from this video said. Ratchet was at peace with his pursuit for the Lombaxes, Clank felt more whole by Ratchets side instead of taking over his fathers duty as he felt like he needed to, and a universe wide time catastrophe was prevented in the center of the universe(2 out of 3 sci-fi end game situations) so it felt like nothing could top it in terms of scale after that. The general story is not the best when it came to the PS3(not like I come to the series for that when Sly Cooper was better at it) and when it tried to be serious it felt like vacuumed bubbles of brain farts where one scene will happen only for another jarring serious even to conflict with the characters personalities. It comes down to it explanation of time travel. Why is Clank unphased by it? Has a device installed in his body that makes him immune. Why isn't Ratchet unchanged by his travels through time despite Azimuth talking about the butterfly effect which should make his end goal fruitless? Ratchet never existed then and there at the time yet his butterfly effect being that he damage Nefarious in the past only showing up at a later cut scene instead of being there from the start. How is Sigmund able to make wormholes even though time travel should be impossible for how delicate it is? Who knows since using the Great Clock itself will destroy the universe again when used for more than 6 minutes but a small 2 way time portal through entire years by a anomaly, that's fine. The icing to me is that they deliberately talked/wrote around Azimuth in telling him that using the machine will blow up the only thing keeping time in one piece killing everyone, making everyone seem dumber than they really are(then again Azimuth was dumb enough to allow Tachyon access to all the Lombax technology with no supervision so it just adds to it) much like Ratchet not believing in Clank when he talked about the Zoni. If they told Azimuth about the device that makes him immune to time alteration, showed him the time portal with how it worked, and him now knowing the butterfly effect wont effect him so long as he has a quantum reactor he could do what he wanted without the final act being as dramatic but still impactful since he will have met his end goal to say goodbye with some plot convenience saying he made a new timeline branch with nothing really changing to the main timeline. Would've been different since the twist villain final boss wouldn't be a thing(if I remember correctly that was overdone when the game came out in general media) and instead have something more nuance to match the serious tone they were trying to go for.

This is in my top 5 games of all time.
I wish PlayStation would make a HD trilogy of tools of destruction to crack in time for the ps5 like they did for the ps2 trilogy for the ps3 😭

Maybe in 2027, since that would be the 20th anniversary of the Future saga.

Yep
I hope we got a remake of the game in the future
My all time favorite Ratchet and Clank game
It’s really been 15 years!
We are getting old...
Great game! That's from my childhood.

Thanks for participating! :D
I agree. PlayStation's Ratchet & Clank Future Part 3: A Crack in Time (2009) is amazing brilliant masterpiece. 10/10.
One of the best games I ever played!! It was the game that got me into the whole series when my dad showed me the ratchet demo to crack in time! The space exploration is definitely my favorite feature! Nothing like exploring moons and listening to jazz!!
Crack in time is the definition of the perfect game in my opinion

Actually being the only game in the series to platinum isn’t technically true. Somehow I forget I platinum the 2016 game, and Rift Apart. 😂
Such a masterpiece, still is my favorite ratchet and clank game 🥺💞
A crack in time was one of my very first PS3 games and one of the best games in my opinion. 😊
I hope they re-release the R&C future trilogy in a collection for the PS5.
R&C A Crack in Time was very well made game but felt a little short. But was one of my favorite games on playstation 3

I still find it off A Crack in Time doesn’t have a ps4 port
I got admit ratchet and clank Future crack in Time was a good game i kinda like that😊
This is the one game that the PS3 DID have. hahaha
