HNL Lab Medicine Installs New Automation Technology, First in Country

HNL Lab Medicine is in the process of installing new automation lines at several of our Acute Care Laboratories and at our headquarters in Allentown, PA. The DxA 5000 Workflow Automation System, a Beckman Coulter product, is the first of its kind to be installed in the United States.
The automation line will eliminate 7-10 manual processes per specimen, increasing capacity and throughput, reducing manual processes, and improving resulting turnaround time. This technology is able to photographically analyze specimens of various sizes for quality and integrity. It also routes specimens to three laboratory instruments that have been integrated into the automation line.
