    All I can say is WOW! I can't believe how much work goes into your videos - this explains why I enjoy them so much. I can't wait to see what you produce in Canada!

    Very nice! The Vietnam video is one of my favorites. We could tell how much work was put into it. The editing turned out beautifully. Thanks for sharing!

    A fabulous video. Sharing you expertise and tacit knowledge is a wonderful gift for viewers. I have watched all of your SM travel videos and I know how hard it is to make your travel videos look easy. You do have “something “: which makes your travel videos unique and watchable and not just a one off watch for me and my wife. By the way I’m the guy whose been “nagging “ you about Canada , looking forward to what yiu have produced.
    You may already have done this and if you have I’ve missed it, but an out-takes of your “ special” moments. In the meantime that’s for what you do and share k/r John

    This is an awesome video, thank you so much for sharing!! I use Final Cut too and feel the same struggles when it comes to editing 😂 but in the end it works out! Good tips too, thank you!! Looking forward to your Canada video 🎉

    Editing is the bane of my existence! I watched a video of yours a couple years ago where you mentioned that you had shot 4000 video clips on a trip and ended up using 1000 of them for a video. I think it was Japan? Anyway, that comment haunts me on an almost daily basis! Lol

      Haha. Yeah I think it was the 2nd 14 days in Japan video. I’ve got no better

    We also do travel videos, but much smaller channel. Before I pull down the videos from the iPhone to the laptop, I watch them multiple times and delete what seems repetitive 🙂

    I dread finding music because it is so time consuming... and because I have to do it as the last part of my video editing process, I'm always just dying to have the video done and published by then! 🙄

    Hi, fabulous video. How much storage do you have on your phone? Do you download your videos each day to a laptop for saving them then delete off of your iPhone for the next day? I’m going to Vietnam in March and would love to make a wee video. Thank you.

      Great questions! I have a 256 phone which is plenty (maybe even 128 could be) as everything goes into iCloud so if the phone gets full the photos get optimised freeing up the space. So the only time this wouldn’t be good is if you didn’t have internet for a long time. But 30/40gb is usually more than enough for a trip. I have a fast USB C hard drive I can plug into the iPhone 15 pro to transfer if I need to back up. Backing up is always important (not that I’ve needed to but in case I lost the footage). So I use that if I haven’t backed up to iCloud. I only delete the footage from the phone once edited to free up the space on iCloud and I archive the editing library to another hard drive. Hope that helps

      I’ve just looked. I still have 150gb free on this phone…

    Question🙋‍♀️. I’ve just watched your incredibly useful videos on iPhone skills and editing, however can I ask what spec your Mac is, or what minimum spec you’d recommend for video editing with Final Cut Pro? I currently have an M1 Mac Mini, stock standard 8g with 512g memory and wondering if this is adequate to at least start/learn with, and upgrade as I gain in skill…

    • @CarryOnMonkey
      @CarryOnMonkey  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hey. If you have an M1, this will be fine, no worries. Especially if starting. I have the 14 inch MacBook Pro which is M2 and I went up from M1. It is better but not essential. Nowadays the M1s are so good a MacBook Air is good enough for editing. Anything else let me know.

    • @CarryOnMonkey
      @CarryOnMonkey  11 месяцев назад +1

      Also. If you haven’t bought FCP already I’d usually suggest starting with iMovie and moving away from that to fcp when you outgrow it. That’s what I did after about two years. It eases you into editing without feeling overwhelmed. But depends on how you like to work I guess and the end goal

      Thanks. There’s better software out there for animations but I always use Keynote as it’s free and I know how to use it then just export as a movie.
