LA Zine Fest is on my bucket lists of fests to table one day... thanks for taking us along for the ride, and congrats on your first zine fest! Your table looked so good!
How exciting! Your set up was really inviting, just the right amount of creative spacing. I'm new to Zines so this is helpful info. Thank you for sharing. :)
I loved your table setup and the event looked really cool! I’m going to see if they have something similar in NYC. Thanks for bringing us along, it was interesting to watch!
Congratulations! I could feel your anxiety as you prepared for the Zine Fest! I have had (and continue to have) similar feelings when preparing for workshops, etc. Making lists - lots of lists- helps me calm down. You will always be an inspiration to me. ❤
One more comment sorry I'm blowing it up...I wish there were events like this in Michigan near me. If there are I dont know about them..Just to go to one and shop there would be amazing and here in Michigan I have ZERO art friends....I am my own mixed media / paper art friends. I'm so happy this event went well for you and I had no doubt this was going to be great for you!! Your amazing Roxy!! Kudos ******
Looks like a great event! I went to a manga- type fest this year and the lines were crazy long. Crout salute to your cute helper! Sounds like you're set for Halloween candy this year!
I've been doing cons and small press shows for over 10 years. You're instinct to do runs of 30 to 50 of each zine is perfect. I do 50 of the latest one. Then for the back stock I keep them around 30. Table looks great.
Thanks so much for this super inspiring video and well done on all the hard work - it paid off. My daughter (Ramona, age 9) and I were so inspired we had to stop halfway through and make zines! We are both doing your mixed media mini zine class and would love to share the results with you when they’re finished. My daughter is home educated and she has learnt so much from your videos as she is an aspiring vlogger and artist! 🖤
So happy for you! Your table looked dope af. Thanks for sharing all the tea and I'll pop into etsy for the zines I'm missing. Oh, i think us Washingtonians swapped weather with you. Thanks for the blue skies, sorry not sorry, lol 😊
Love this vlog, zinefest looks awesome! Your table looked amazing!!! I hope you did really well financially and smashed your $50 goal!!! I was also wondering, how did it go with the amount of stock you made? Would you make that much next time if you did it again ....and are you going to apply again next year?!😂❤ Loved seeing all the behind the scenes. Glad it was such a busy show xx
Thank you so much!! To answer your questions - I definitely made too many zines overall. Some sold better than others and I had 'low inventory' but didn't fully sell out of anything. I think this wasn't a major issue though, since I knew any leftover inventory would go into my Etsy shop! as for next year - I would absolutely do it again!! And I'd go straight for a full sized table ;)
