It's rumored MCU is setting up a Midnight Sons roster, which will be like The Thunderbolts, not exactly comic accurate. So MK, Jack, Ted, Elsa, and others could be in it.
Ted, a.k.a. Man-Thing, is a being that guards a swamp known as The Nexus of Realities. So it makes sense they would want to introduce him into the MCU just as they're delving into the Multiverse.
Jack isn't kidding when he says he keeps having to rescue Ted from odd predicaments: Maria Hill mentioned him as a SHIELD prisoner at the end of AoS season 1, and we saw a giant bust of his head on Sokaar in Thor: Ragnarok.
Thought it be interesting to point out that Jack Russell actor Gael Garcia Bernal also did the voice of Hector Rivera in Coco, along with Jonathan Pangborn actor Benjamin Bratt in Doctor Strange doing the voice of Ernesto de la Cruz.
The director is a Hollywood film composer (he did Jurassic World series as an example) which is why the score was so terrific and full of classic Universal homages -- he scored his own film! I think this was his directorial debut. Also shout out to Bebe from Frasier!
Really enjoyed this! I knew nothing about the titular character but now I want to know more. I knew about “Ted” and am glad he’s finally being introduced to the MCU. Moving forward I’d like to see the following “Special Presentations”: - A Silver Surfer special done in the style of classic Doctor Who episodes (one of the recent runs in the comics was directly inspired by DW) - A special that brings back Luke Cage and Iron Fist and shows them forming Heroes for Hire. Either do it in the style of blackploitation films (what Luke was a reference to originally) or 1970s style kung Fu film. - A special that introduces EXcalibur, a British team that features several members of the X-Men to help set the stage for more mutants/the X-Men
With Doctor Who moving to Disney+ next year their may be interest in exploring the links between Who and Marvel. The robot mercenary Death's Head in Marvel comics started his life in the Doctor's comic for instance and there have also been analogues of the Doctor in Marvel comics like a character in Power Man and Iron Fist.
You were certainly dressed appropriately for a nod to old school monster flicks. Definitely hope Marvel revisits this dark corner of their world soon. Love Ted, Jack, and Elsa!!! Great reaction and wish you a happy Halloween!!!!
I always been a fan of Man Thing (Ted) because he had this unusual look, and they got his look perfectly right out of the comics Snufalufgus/Groot just perfect. I never read any of the Werewolf by Night comics, but I like how they join both characters up in this movie and Elsa Bloodstone is an interesting character from the comics, but I know nothing about here, but the actress look like Jessica Jones I can't wait to see here in any other Marvel content or maybe joining up again with her newfound friends.
Marvel is going supernatural with blade, the black knight, ghost rider and others coming along with our boys here, n FYI Elsa Bloodstone is a sick character she may take part in secret wars
"where monsters dwell" was another marvel horror title. As a comic reader i am glad, they didn't refer to the main charakter as Jack right away, that would have given it away.
Elsa Bloodstone, Jack Russell a.k.a. Werewolf By Night and Ted a.k.a. Manthing are all established Marvel characters. The show was surprisingly faithful to the source material, down to the Bloodstone's powers, Ted's touch burning people who are afraid of him, and Jack saying that he had managed to remember someone while he was on werewolf form once before, referring to his mother asking him not to kill his stepfather and being able to remember him and not break his promise to her.
It's amazing that this was the first time directing job of the composer!! It's so well done! I forget who came first, Man-Thing (Ted Sallis) or Swamp Thing, but they both came out around the same time in the 70's with very similar origins, but very different takes. Moon Knight first appeared in the Werewolf by Night comic, fighting Jack. In the comic, Jack did struggle against being an out of control animal, but later gained control to the point he could transform at will.
According to Wikipedia, Man-Thing predates Swamp Thing by just three months (both their debuts came out in 1971), but I think Swamp Thing might have become more well known thanks to his Vertigo series and Alan Moore’s run on it
never seen elsa's actress before but not only does she look like krysten witter (jessica jones) but a bit like anne hathaway too. hope they do more with her in the mcu.
Great reaction as always and of course the weeping angels necklace just added to it. Now in my opinion werewolf by night the best thing marvel done in the past couple years. If this is the way marvel going then the blade movie going to be really good and I can't wait to see more of jack, Ted, and Elsa whenever that is
I'm a very casual Marvel comic reader - I've read some specific storylines such as Civil War and a bunch of the Ultimates reboots, but little of the original storylines. I haven't the slightest clue what this is referencing. And I don't care. This was just good enjoyable stand-alone fun. And I really hope Marvel do more of these, I'm so exhausted with trying to keep up with every cross-over and subtextual wink to the audience - which is the same reason I haven't read a whole lot of their comics.
Glad you enjoyed this as much as I did. Your reactions are always great. And thank you for not going black and white like 80% of the other reactors. Lol
I don’t know anything about these stories so I went in blind. I was bored for the first part where it was a typical old style monster Hunter gathering, but I liked Jack from the beginning. I loved it from the point where Jack found Ted. And Ted was awesome!
But, what is this? People from USA reacting to a Mexican Actor? Wonderful, hahaha. No, seriously, I'm surprised and happy to se how Gael Garcia has been growing in his career, an now is part of your reactions. I never expected that
Ted is none as The Man Thing. He and Jack are part of the midnight sons. The dark marvel anti heroes. Morbius, Ghost Rider, and Blade are other members of the group.
Thanks for wearing a Weeping Angel necklace. Not blinking for 25 minutes is painful.
The character of Werewolf by Night turned 50 this year. Also Moon Knight’s first comic appearance was in a Werewolf by Night.
It's rumored MCU is setting up a Midnight Sons roster, which will be like The Thunderbolts, not exactly comic accurate. So MK, Jack, Ted, Elsa, and others could be in it.

“Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the moon is full and bright.”
Super dope. Love that.
I've memorized that line since I was 10!!! 😄If you hadn't have said it then I would have!!! 😄😄😄
"Listen if I was rooting for people, based on outfits? You'd be my number one." 😅 This channel is always a mood, the screams and laughing (fun times).
Ted and Jack are such a wonderful bromance!
Ted, a.k.a. Man-Thing, is a being that guards a swamp known as The Nexus of Realities. So it makes sense they would want to introduce him into the MCU just as they're delving into the Multiverse.

It's the sweet spot ;)
Just to be clear, his full name is Jack Russell and I love that.
With a name like that it's "terrier-ific".
It’s also the Americanized version of his name. His was born Jacob Russoff.😊
To quote Peter Parker "Haha! No seriously, what's your actual name?" or "Oh i see, we're using our made up names"

Love the weeping Angel pendant. I had those in stock from last year. Keep up the good work.

I hope Michael Giacchino makes more stuff like this i want to see more of elsa bloodstone, jack russell werewolf by night and ted sallis manthing
So good to see a proper Man-Thing.
They did lean in to his more sentient incarnation(s), rather than his more non-sentient "force of nature" version, but I liked it.
@@jeffrconner True, but definitely better than that sci-fi channel film version.🤣
@@kemmdog4444 Definitely. But I still watched that. ;-)

Jack the werewolf's last name is 'Russell'. Marvel was subtle in the 70s.
At least when they changed his ethnicity they didn't change his name to Che Huahua.

Man Things(Ted) whole lore is "He who knows fear burns at the Man Things touch". So...addressing him as not a monster, but Ted...you get it.
