    As always, phenomenal work! What is the name of the swirl technique you used? I love that it's subtly sitting toward the bottom and yet, so commanding of your attention because of how bold the black is. Great job! ❤❤❤❤❤

    Ok question for you, why do you like the "Heat Transfer Method" ? BTW love all your soaps and video's I normally watch them at night, so calming and peaceful just purchased one of these mold and mention you, I hope you get some kind of credit for it. Not just trying to figure out how to split and slice these bad boys LOL Haven't d0one the batch yet, thinking pouring is a bear

      It saves time. Instead of me waiting hours for the lye water to cool. I can soap instantly. You will definitely need a log splitter! :)

      @@OpheliasSoapery Ya I got one, a while back and mentioned you than also. Ok I was just wondering, but most of my soaps are Goats milk so I have to do it different anyways, but this helps for those batch with yes distilled water instead, you're the BEST thanks again for your answer.

    I just made my first charcoal soap and in the process of testing... Charcoal at 1% of oils...but still soaps black on the skins cracks and large pores. At what % charcoal is used?

      I did not measure how much I used. My guess would be probably 1tbsp per pound of oils.

      @@OpheliasSoapery that's even more around 2% of oils... I must say charoal soap is terrifying 😂 even the suds are blackish, drag the soap on paper its like a lead pencil

    I just saw this! Question ~ about replaced water with Aloe Juice... Could we use aloe from the plant? I have tons of fat aloes and I'd like to put that to use. I love this video! I was looking for inspirations! Thank you! 🥰

      I think you would have to freeze it in cubes and slowly add the the lye to it until it’s all melted. Similar to the way you would do a milk replacement.

      Cold process soap is best used after 3-4 weeks. Some people like to wait longer.

      No I add them as soon as the hard oils are melted. :)

      Try 1 tbsp per pound of oils and if it isn’t as dark as you’d like try 2 :)
      Gelling your soaps also help with getting a darker black :)

      I was probably going to use it for a different soap. Then changed my mind at the last minute and just used it for this one.

      That means don’t add it directly to your skin. You want to add it to soaps, lotions, etc.

    You dont write the whole of the ingredients names!! Could you please write their names, amounts, temperatures. Otherwise, this video wont be useful for soap production.

    There is a simplistic beauty to black soaps that's just so nice. Even simple white are wonderful too. Love the red swirl to add in the right amount of flair. ❤️

    Beautiful, as always. I’m new to soaping but I notice that activated charcoal seizes up like TD can (and usually does). I saw yours get thick how did you get it back behaving?

      The fragrance oil was amazing to work with. It thinned it out :)

      I would suggest soaping at a lower temperature if you can. I don’t think it’s necessarily the charcoal that is causing the seizing. I am guessing it might be the fragrance oil in combination with a higher soaping temperature.
      By the way this soap is lovely as always!

    Very pretty Julie. You inspired me to try the heat transfer method. I wasn’t sure when to add the sodium lactate so I just threw it in, lol. It was way faster. Thank you.

      I add it to my liquid oils. A lot of people add it to their lye water. But I always forget to. So I started adding it to my oils lol 😆
