You just need to be honest with yourself about who your family members are. I’ve got 4 brothers and sisters. We were all raised with the same values, but only some of us live them. I don’t really relate to the ones that don’t, while those of us who are on the same page are best friends in our 40’s. Not all of your acquaintances are truly friends, and sadly someone being “family” doesn’t mean you can rely on them to treat you honorably.

Now that was a 27min “one take” from a man that is going through something. He sat alone and vulnerable and spoke with conviction and resolve. I started a company 2 years ago and had questions of my own about expanding and direction. I look up to Lucas and admire what he has done in the time he’s done it. Not only for himself, but the community. I wish him the best of luck in the future and I hope whatever he does fulfills not only himself, but his family.

Based upon the way he says he has been treated by his former business partners, who acted the way they did while also being his family, I think he had no choice but to put out a statement like this. Unless he draws a line in the sand like this, he would leave open the possibility that his former partners at T. Rex would actively work to harm his next business endeavour as thoroughly as they worked to minimize him within his last one. The situation here is clearly devolving into a he said, he said, he said, he said fracas with a lot at stake for everyone. Faced with such a situation, Lukas has, rightly I would say, decided he's going to show the potential threat that he's situationally aware, that he's carrying and that he knows how to protect himself.

This is my worst nightmare, I’ve played it out in my mind over and over of how everyone’s going to act and who thinks they are entitled to what when my grandfather passes. I decided years ago that I’ll just walk away, there’s nothing that’s worth more to me than the old man and when that day comes I’ll lose respect for everyone I’m related to.

There's always a snake in every family and they seem to just know how to get everything. My cousins didn't even realize it until I told them that I got nothing. Could see they felt guilty, but not enough to share any worldly belongings left behind.

I saw you as a person that follows your values and belief. I can count on your honest content and in the end you stayed true to your conviction. Your content helped me escape my new reality and help me through my recover from my injuries by breaking that train of thought also knowing that makes it worth it to give our all during our combat tempo. I went through something similar about 4 years ago, just on a different level. Truth and transparency is what helped get me through and sleep at night man. Its funny how when there's a lack of that and stories change, people get angry, conclusions are formed, and mistakes are made. Whether it be in personal or professional life, truth, integrity, and transparency will get you through- with the help of the big man upstairs. I've seen this a lot in my local community and online. Either a spouse or family finds that you have struck gold and wants some input or ownership despite building nothing or even something minuscule. Its insanely hard to say no and/or stand up to an older sibling or spouse and I don't blame Lucas for it. His family pushing him into a prenup should've been the writing on the wall to back out. If your "business partner" ever brings someone else in and your family starts trying to run your business, its time to bail.

If I'm being honest, there's some language in his speech that makes me concerned. Maybe nothing at all. But then also I've put women who I cared deeply about before my family before, and it was absolutely never the smart move. I was engaged to a smart woman whom I trusted very much and when I made mistakes it didn't work out. With family, my mistakes could never change me being able to depend on them.

He was very young when he started all this and probably thought cutting his older brothers in was a winning move since he could trust his brothers… only to be proven bitterly wrong by being treated this way. Something I've always heard: Absolutely, never ever engage in a business with family or friends AND, if you do - NEVER give up personal ownership/control. Never give up more than 50%. I'm sad you found out this the difficult way. Much respect to you for opening up here online. I'm sure this was very emotional, to say the least. I’m sure they spun it like we want to make sure it’s a 2/3 vote for decisions. Knowing that they were just going to steamroll him. Possible there is a culty aspect from his family and then his wife is using her own buzz words against it. Seems like he was getting taken advantage of by his whole family and their friends/families. Might as well just be manipulated and taken advantage of by the one wife instead of the whole town. That way he only loses half of everything instead of everything if it goes south.

Unless he draws a line in the sand like this, he would leave open the possibility that his former partners at T. Rex would actively work to harm his next business endeavour as thoroughly as they worked to minimize him within his last one. The situation here is clearly devolving into a he said, he said, he said, he said fracas with a lot at stake for everyone.
Faced with such a situation, Lukas has, rightly I would say, decided he's going to show the potential threat that he's situationally aware, that he's carrying and that he knows how to protect himself.

I just wanted to reach out after watching your recent video. Thank you for being so open and honest about the challenges you’re facing. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to pour your heart into building something, invite others into it, and then see it taken in a direction that doesn’t reflect the values you started with. That’s a heavy burden, but I admire the way you’re walking through it with faith and transparency.
I have a good friend, Jim Ulrich, who lives in Tennessee. He’s also a strong Christian, a fantastic business owner, very moral, and deeply involved in ministry. He’s going through some tough times as well, and I thought maybe one day your paths might cross-it seems like you’d really connect.
This is a test, but as you know, it will pass. Keep your eyes fixed on Christ. From what you’ve shared, it sounds like you already are, and that’s the most important thing. Blessings in our Lord Jesus to you and your family.

I've seen this a lot in my local community and online. Either a spouse or family finds that you have struck gold and wants some input or ownership despite building nothing or even something minuscule. Its insanely hard to say no and/or stand up to an older sibling or spouse and I don't blame Lucas for it. His family pushing him into a prenup should've been the writing on the wall to back out.
If your "business partner" ever brings someone else in and your family starts trying to run your business, its time to bail.
Maybe his brothers company was larger,but TREX had a better brand. Therefore, Lucas says, yep, their part was worth more. He’s not stupid, and I’m sure he had an advisor besides family.

If I'm being honest, there's some language in his speech that makes me concerned.
Maybe nothing at all. But then also I've put women who I cared deeply about before my family before, and it was absolutely never the smart move. I was engaged to a smart woman whom I trusted very much and when I made mistakes it didn't work out. With family, my mistakes could never change me being able to depend on them.

He was very young when he started all this and probably thought cutting his older brothers in was a winning move since he could trust his brothers… only to be proven bitterly wrong by being treated this way.
Time will tell if this was the right move for him. I’m gonna be keeping watch because I’ve always liked Lucas and I want to see him do well.

I’m sure they spun it like we want to make sure it’s a 2/3 vote for decisions. Knowing that they were just going to steamroll him. Possible there is a culty aspect from his family and then his wife is using her own buzz words against it. Seems like he was getting taken advantage of by his whole family and their friends/families. Might as well just be manipulated and taken advantage of by the one wife instead of the whole town. That way he only loses half of everything instead of everything if it goes south.
I found this channel because of you almost a decade ago. I noticed over the years you’ve been fading out more and more and I understand why now with the transparency. I would watch this channel solely because of you Lucas. You made the company. You can do it again. It’s not a million that makes a man but it’s who a man becomes to make a million.
