I just got my beginner ocarina order in today! I practiced for 3 hours off of your videos. They were really helpful and easy to follow along to. Also your ‘ ta ‘ blowing tip really helped.
I got my ocarina at a convention so I'm now 99% sure it was meant for display/cosplay. It's get two extra holes in the sides to feed thread through and I hoped those wouldn't affect the side, but it really does.
Aaaah so that's what those holes are! I was thinking why the higher notes are such a struggle. The lower ones sound fine however, but I guess I'll have to try a proper one instead :D
I got my first ocarina as a gift, i noticed there were rough and pointy edges on the holes themself. I used a screwdriver to scrape, and smooth the inner edges, and it sounds a bit better now. Especially the higher notes.
heyy i have a question, i got an ocarina from stl a while ago and it sounds kinda hoarse. now my question is is it the ocarina that lacks quality or me lacking practice?
I feel like it's my microphone. I feel like I sound good but then when I record it sounds extremely airy like a flute. Any recommendations for a microphone?
When I started out playing the ocarina, I couldn't figure out why I couldn't play the ocarina tabs I found online right. It turns out I bought a South American ocarina (because I didn't know the difference between different 4-hole types) and I had to buy my self another one. Luckily I scored and got a nice ocarina from E-bay for $15. I have quite a few nice ocarinas by now, but I definitely didn't start out well.
I have a question. I bought the stl spring ocarina, but it sounds kinda smoky. The dark and middle notes has some sort of background noise inside them. It sounds like an old recordingsound or like rushing / rustleling silent in the note. Can this sound come from falsly playing it?
I was wondering what was wrong with mine and mine is literally the same one she bought from Amazon this was not known to me as I got the Ocarina in a mystery box from a subscription service a while ago good to know that it wasn't entirely my fault
Hi. So I got me myself ocarina. But when I open more than 3 holes it sounds like I'm putting too much air inside. Yet I'm keeping it at low/mid air. Can you explain please. Thank you
I got mine from a comic convention recently, i dont think it sounds off and it leans a little sharp. I found the same one i got on amazon, but cant 100% decide whether or not its a faulty instrument. Anyone help?
I have the icksact same ocarina that was in this video but it plays wrong and I got it from amazon and it sounds the same as the c major scale if I were to play a song
Hi, I have a question! When I got my ocarina(the small beginner ones) it was working just fine, I was blowing it well, but now it doesn't make a sound, I can only hear the air and it barely blows and I tried everything on here but it's not working, can you please tell me what's wrong and what I can do to fix it?(I got the ocarina a few days ago by the way)
I just got an ocarina for christmas, and it seems to be one of those on amazon. It doesn't really play well. It seems to be out of tune. I got it as a gift, and I don't know what to do. I don't want to hurt anybody's feelings by saying it isn't good, but i really want to get a better ocarina because this one was my first.
And with the 3 highest notes? I bought a plastic ocarina in STL with your code, it cost me twice as much since I'm from Spain, and it sounds good but the 3 highest notes not so much...
Hmm that’s so weird. Make sure that you’re using enough air and not tightening too much. If you’re still having problems, make sure to contact them and they’ll help you out!
@@GinaLuciani sometimes when I use more air sounds better but sometimes with a little whistle sound. Btw i read something about the position to hold the ocarina, maybe is that...
Just got an Ember F ocarina from STL and I can't get it to sound good. I accept that I'm a complete beginner, but it sounds like a whistle being played when I try ;-;
It would depend on the maker. A lot of cheaper plastic ocarinas are no good, but if a plastic ocarina comes from a good, known brand like Noble or Focalink they can be good. I think one of the biggest differences with plastic and ceramic ocarinas is that many ceramic ones are better at handling high notes.
@Zaki Zalfawiza from what I've seen probably not. There are a lot of lower quality ocarinas out there that play very poorly as instruments. Decorative ones
Zelda fan? I'm one myself 😉 I like the games, but I also have a lot of Zelda themed things, like posters, different wallpapers for my phone, tablet, and computer, and even a few Link plushies 😉 And, of course, a few Zelda ocarinas 😊🎵🎶 I have the STL Zelda and Sheik ocarinas, and the Songbird Zelda ocarina 🙂
Same! So I got one from Temu, it's from China if I'm not wrong. It's not too expensive but a bit risky cause some ocarinas from there are great but some.. Well some are actually ment for Display. Mine looks like "the popular Amazon ocarina" but it's not from Amazon and maybe that's why it's great.

So glad that my videos were helpful! More coming soon!
The amazon ocarina sounded like an edgy teenager pretending to speak in a deeper voice 🤣
haha!
THIS IS LITERALLY WHY MY OCARINA SOUNDS OFF! I BOUGHT THAT EXACT ONE YOU COMPARED IT TOO 😭😭😭
Hi! I have a question I have a 60$ ocarina and it sounds like a dying dog, it’s so squeaky and I don’t know what to do how can it sound better?
Are you overblowing? Which ocarina did you buy? Did you get it from a reputable maker?
Ohhh that explains itttt.... welp time to save up for a new ocarina (hopefully one that works this time)

Mine does too and I'm sad about it, that was over $60

Can ocarinas "wet out", lime tin whistles or recorders? I feel like mine does that sometimes.

What if you’re trying to play the highest note and sound doesn’t come out
Hi. So I got me myself ocarina. But when I open more than 3 holes it sounds like I'm putting too much air inside. Yet I'm keeping it at low/mid air. Can you explain please. Thank you
I 3d printed a 12- hole ocarina. I get one note. That's it.

I will try this tips wity my songbird ocarina but i'll be sad if at the end of the day the problem is the ocarina and not myself...

Yay!
I have one too 😊 In blue, but I'd love the orange one too 🧡

Ngl my temu ocerana just sounds like a whistle
That’s on you for buying on temu tbh, they’re such a scammy company 😭
@@lilaclupin I just bought it because I was given 7 free stuff for joining. I did get a good haul overall though I even got an ugly Garfield plush
