The COGASOC is the manifestation of the unique experience of the encounter of Africans born in America with Christian slavery. This religious expression captures African culture from the perspective and inspiration of the slave born prophet William S. Crowdy preserved in ritual and song throughout the generations of over 120 years. The style and composition of their songs and music have been the study and subject of Ethnomusicologists who have sought to capture the character and various traditions of African American music. This musical tradition has been put in a category all its own. The religious history of this communion of Saints is somewhat profound and self-identifies as "the oldest African-American congregation in the United States that adheres to the tenets of Judaism" which makes it the foundation of everything that can be put in the category of what is now known as "Black Judaism" and includes all African religious expressions, ideologies, groups, sects, communities and African people groups that aspire to and have embraced Jew/Hebrew/Israel identity. For anyone, especially an African born in America to not know about and to not experience this spiritually rich religious tradition is to be culturally deprived.

Shel Ellie Is this church a Hebrew isralites religion and does this church follow the dietary laws?
We read the Kings James bible. Let 1 Cor. 1. 1-2 be your guide to understanding the name of the Church. And feel free to comment. Ask questions.

All Hail Saints!!!
It doesn't feel righteous? Can you explain? We are the CHURCH OF GOD AND SAINTS OF CHRIST.
How about you ask questions before you assume.
