Мужики шутили, посмеивались, но как только Диана начала петь мир перевернулся и ребята стали смотреть как завороженные... Мистика!
ДИАНа по-настоящему вышла за рамки обычных певцов независимо от пола , я не знаю как она станет петь в будущем , но когда она поёт будучи еще девушкой-подростком в 14 лет , она просто своей искренностью проникает в душу . И неважно сколько лет у слушателя , 15 или 70 . Лишь бы была душа. Лично я впервые ее услышал в ГОЛОСЕ , где ее прокатили , запомнил ее из всех детей не только мастерством вокала , больше мне запомнилась ее реакция когда ее не выбрали. Девочка не заплакала не на сцене когда ее несправедливо не выбрали , а за кулисами и плакала от того что ей еще ни разу так не хлопали . А на сцене держалась на зависть взрослым людям , улыбалась , разговаривала будто прошла , я был восхищен выдержкой маленькой девочки. Второй раз я ее услышал в ТЫ СУПЕР в ее первом выступлении , тут я был реально ошарашен не только мастерством , но и мощью ее голоса , а также артистичностью , помню когда судьи встали и аплодировали она еще не вышла из образа и стояла поникшая с опущенными руками , это было что-то. А потом ночью перед сном включил смарттелевизор и там ютуб рандомно включил РЕЧЕНЬКУ . Мне за 50 уже было , но я как завороженный смотрел , на эти несколько минут будто из этого мира выпал , не вспомню когда такое последний раз было , но только точно в юности . Ни одна еще певица меня так не шокировала , Димаш только по-началу , а про мурашки даже не говорю , я циник по-жизни (до этого так о себе думал), но эта девочка умеет задеть душу )) Я не фанат и не понимаю фанатов -поклонников , не все ее песни меня затрагивают , но от некоторых до сих пор при переслушивании мурашки
This is an old wedding ritual song, it's like a puzzle, it consists of phrases taken from ritual songs. Smiling: she did it perfectly for a reason. Her character has doubts, fears before her wedding, sad thoughts, BUT the guests has arrived. The house is full. She smiles at them, greets them. Puts her mask on. Everyone had moments when felt something darker but put on a smile for those around her. She masterfully performed the whole song, including this part. At age of 14.
P.S. This song is about the girl going to the forest to the river before her wedding. Her parents are dead, but asks for their blessing. The river separates the live from the dead in their culture.
And yes she mimicked the forest sounds and the river's, painted with her voice.
The guy with the long red hair was not Igor Krutoy. That was Viktor Drobysh. Both are composers and producers. Both participated as judges at various times with the performances on the You're Super talent shows.

The song "Rechenka" (affectionate from the word "river") is a Russian folk ritual wedding song. There is a version that this song appeared before Christianity, and since early Christianity and paganism were closely intertwined, there are many versions of this song. It tells how an orphan girl comes to the river and prays to the spirits of nature. The song is about how my mother, father and brothers were killed by enemies, there is no one to take care of her. The river in Ancient Russia was considered the border between the world of the living and the dead. You hear an ominous whisper, it's the spirit of her late mother responding to the girl's crying.
There are about 30 variants of this song, but the content of each of the variants is based on the sad appeals of the orphan bride to her deceased parents, asking them for "blessings" and help for marriage, for family, to strangers.
There are other versions of this song, where the heroine appeals to her brothers and even to her parents with a call to return to earth in the form of a bird to her native home.
At the end of the song, the girl sails away to a strange tribe, to a strange family.
The roots of the song go back to ancient Russia, it is a very, very ancient folk folklore.
she is smiling according to the lyrics- when she tells the river that the yard is full of horses and guests - it means that the bride is rich, but immediately she starts yodуд - like a cry- because she is an orphan and she is afraid of marriage - nobody knows.... if something goes wrong she wont be protected
Diana plays the role of an orphaned girl that is about to be taken away in an arranged marriage, she goes to the river which acts as a symbolism (as you also pointed out) of the gate to the underworld, it is what separates the living and the dead.
There the river notices that she is troubled and asks her what is going on why is she not smiling? (this voice can also be interpreted as her dead mother's voice), Diana then proceeds to tell her story (Diana plays both roles, the poor orphaned girl and the voice of the river/mother's spirit).
She is saying that her arranged marriage proceeds with no delays, guests have already filled the house and everything is in order, she puts a smile there as a facade (the true reason that she is smiling in the performance is because Diana acts perfectly her role not because she is excited) to the unknown people that surround her but in reality she is very sad, she has no people on her side, she has no mother or father to give their blessings to her, she cries her heart out (the yodels).
At the end of the story she gets on a boat and sails away, what does that mean? it could have several interpretations.
- She returns to her arranged marriage.
- The river helps her get away from her predicament.
- The river takes her to her dead parents to get their blessings.
- The river takes her to the underworld aka she takes her own life.
Personally i like to think that the second option is what happens but the last option is the most probable, of course this is an ancient folk song with many many alterations during the eons that has been around so anything can be true.
The howls can be interpreted either as her laments or the forests wolf cries, they are definitely not owls 🤣🤣🤣

Love this girl. So different yet so easy to like. She has it all, especially now that she’s older. She’s definitely an acquired taste but I enjoy all the different ways she uses her talents.

Greetings from Scotland! Two points in this performance. Where she does that incredible vocal slide, where her voice goes from quite high then drops off the vocal cliff into oblivion! WOW! Second, where she is near the end in full yodel crying mode and gets bodily lifted up and into the boat before leaving stage left. She never missed a single note! 2 weeks before her 15th birthday! What a performer!

And she came to the river to drown herself and told her her whole life. This makes the smile even more creepy. The spirits take her to them, and she turns into a mermaid, and the river becomes her home.

The girl goes to the river to get a blessing from the river spirits because she has no one to bless her marriage. She summons the spirits knowing they are not human and will react as they will. They are nature spirits ... chaotic. They appear and do not grant her wish for a blessing. They ferry her away to her death across the river. She took a chance and lost. She does not struggle. She accepts her fate.
Old Russia had few blessings for poor girls. The time period was a hard one. There were few happy endings.
There is nowhere in the song that implies her mother is in any way involved.
"Oh, playmates, my dear playmates,
oh, I have nothing to rejoice about,
oh, I have nothing to smile about."
Nothing about her mother.
"You are my river, my river, you flow but not quiver."
I think a better English translation is "hesitate" rather than "quiver." A quivering river is meaningless in English in this context. Why should the girl care if the river is quivering? It means nothing to her. A river that is swift and sure with its judgement is what "not hesitate" implies. That's what happened to her as we see her being ferried across by the spirits.

In 2018 Diana first sang this song in the singing competition 'You are super' (she was 14 years old).
This international TV competition is unique in the world and was specially developed for adopted and orphaned children. It is designed not only to give positive emotions to children who do not have a prosperous childhood, but also to hope for changes in their destiny.
Diana entered the competition 'You are Super!' in 2018 and 2019 and won twice. The winner of the season will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to RUclips and soon she had millions of fans.
The project producers help the finalists start studying and encourage their creativity. Diana won a scholarship to the College of Music. Igor Krutoy, as a juror, gave her a small apartment in Moscow. So, she could start her vocal training with the best teachers such as Professor Olga Donskoy (She died of Covid-19 in Oct. 2020)…

A smile is not always an emotion. In vocals, this is one way to use facial muscles and lips to create a certain configuration or shape of the mouth to extract sound in a certain key, and this girl (at that time she was 14 years old) just brilliantly applies various vocal techniques and controls her vocal apparatus and sound extraction. So don't always think of performers' smiles as an expression of emotion or an element of choreography.

Then explain it to them! Don’t expect people to automatically understand everything on the first listening with no additional context…you and I, we both only understand her interpretation well because this is the thousandth time hearing it.

I am in no position to explain Diana's interpretation of this song (some aspects of my view of it having attracted a lot of criticism from Russians).
My point was simply that if one understood anything at all about her interpretation in this performance, one would know that she is not smiling for any such extraneous reason as acknowledging the audience etc. (she would never do anything so disruptive of her art) but that rather, she is smiling because on her interpretation, _whatever it is_ , at that point (the persona of) the song expresses joy/happiness.
