    The OTOFIX BT1 Lite Smart Battery tester is powered by Autel. In fact, the OTOFIX company is owned by Autel and uses all Autel software and firmware. This device is designed to be used along with an OTOFIX OBD2 scan tool, or you can download the Autel battery tester app and use this battery tester along with your smart device. (phone or tablet) The Autel version of this same product is called the Autel BT506. In this video, I give a demonstration of how to use this device. The Autel battery software generates a nice test report that can be saved via PDF format and then it can be shared via email, or with a QR code via cloud service. (no charge) The battery report can also be printed directly from you scan tool or smart phone if you have wireless printing setup on your local network.
    The OTOFIX D1 Lite Scan Tool that was used to show the battery tester has it's own test and review video here:

    (Spoiler alert: The OTOFIX version of this battery tester is MUCH cheaper than the same battery tester in the Autel version.... at least it was at the time this video was uploaded)

    Yo Brian,
    This thing looks so cool.
    I would love to try one of these out.

      I does work pretty good. Of course it does not fully replace a true carbon pile load tester but those things are big and expensive. This device will give you an idea of your battery condition without breaking the bank. I think I will do a video soon featuring the Auto Meter 800 amp carbon pile tester that a friend of mine bought a while back. It's a Beast!
      Thanks again,
      Chuck.

    Looks like a good addition to the D1/D1 Lite. Even though I have a little handheld one that seems to work okay, it would be good to use both to scan the battery and charging system to see if they agree with each other.

      At the time I made this video, the Autel version of this exact same tool was listed on Amazon for $199. Same tool. lol. The OTOFIX version (shown in this video) was listed on amazon for $45 bucks, which is what I paid.... then I saw it listed for $40.... Currently it's about double of that but keep your eyes on it because it seems to vary in price fairly often. The OTOFIX battery tester will pair and work just fine with an Autel scan tool. If you're in the market for one of these, get the bargain while you can. lol.

    Nice demo! Looks very thorough. I was wondering if you have ran the the test more than once and got the same info? I recently purchased a popular “Amazon Choice” stand alone battery tester and got 3 widely different reports. Sent it back. Thanks for sharing!

      I played with it a few times I was able to get results that were very similar to each other. Is this tester perfect. No, it is not. But for the price, its certainly worth having in your tool box. A true carbon pile load tester is around 6-9 hundred bucks so in comparison, this tool is a bargain. lol. Again, thanks for the compliment.

      According to the owners manual, Technical Specifications, section 2.1.3, the device supports up to a 32GB TF card (exact same spec as Micro SD card.)

    What endoscope / videoscope works with this unit ?

    • @SlipFitGarage
      @SlipFitGarage  11 месяцев назад

      Well, you can't use any endoscope with the Bluetooth battery tester (which is what THIS video is about) but I assume you're asking about which endoscope can be used with the OTOFIX D1 Lite, correct? The D1Lite is simply an Android tablet. You can use ANY endoscope that is designed to work with Android devices..... which is pretty much any endoscope sold on the world wide web. Even a cheap $15-$20 dollar endoscope from Amazon will work on the D1 Lite. However, you will need to download a free endoscope app from the internet to make it work. I do NOT sign into my google account from any of my Chinese android scan tools for security reasons so I download android apps from sites like "APKpure" etc... which will allow me to download pretty much any app without being logged into google. You can do this from the google chrome web browser that is built into the OTOFIX D1 Lite scan tool. Otherwise, I believe if you are signed into your google account and you navigate to the google play story via the chrome web browser app on the D1 lite, it will allow you to download a free endoscope app directly from the play store. There are thousands upon thousands of free endoscope apps on the internet and pretty much all of them will work with any endoscope you can buy from Amazon. Just download an app that has a high rating with a million + downloads.... that way you'll now you're getting a good one. And the bonus is.... you can use the same endoscope on your apple or android smart phone, too. There are SO MANY ultra cheap endoscopes on the market right now (with free apps) that will work on any android (or apple) device that it's not even on my radar when looking at scan tools. In fact, I'd rather use an endoscope from my phone screen, and leave the scan tool to use for actual scan tool purposes..... this way I can easily use both at the same time if I need to. I hope this reply answered you question. Thanks.

    Wish it would have displayed the Conductance (Internal Resistance) mΩ on the battery, most important parameter for judging battery health to me, the cheaper stand alone units do display conductance. Without displaying conductance it is useless to me. It has to measure the conductance in order to arrive at the State of Health & Measured CCA numbers it is displaying, so why not display the mΩ?? Other than that, seems decent for most people with nice graphics.

    Do you have a chance to test if the BT506 works with Otofix DT1 lite?

    • @SlipFitGarage
      @SlipFitGarage  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, I just received the BT506 so I have not had a chance to try it yet with the OTOFIX D1 Lite. However, I don't think I really need to try it. Why? Because I already tried the BT1 Lite with Autel branded scan tools and it worked fine. And considering the BT1 Lite and the BT506 look and feel like the exact same product, they are sold by the same people, (Autel) and they come in the same packaging, that makes me pretty sure if the BT1 Lite works with Autel devices, then the BT506 should also work with OTOFIX devices. In fact the OTOFIX BT1 Lite says "made by Autel" on the back of the box. The only difference that I can see is.... one is orange and black, and the other is red and black. Either battery tester will work with either scan tool brand. As long as the scan tool has the Autel "Battery Tester" app installed. You could probably "side load" the app if your tool didn't already have it but I haven't tried that yet so don't take my work for that. Thanks for the question.
