So glad the palms are staying! I personally would have much rather worked around them and had the money saved from removing them go into more new plants and landscaping than to chop them down. They can always be uplit or wrapped in lights to add even more interest.
Can't wait to see the finished project. You have given me confidence to use all my large succulents on my front yard. They only get filtered sunlight but so far so good. I'm starting more cuttings from some of my jades to the fro t wall which is about 100 feet across. Ive only used about 20 feet so far. .
😁 Looks like you're all having fun. I knew you'd eventually see the beauty of the palms once you started putting things in place. Glad they're staying!
Those big blue flames are gorgeous!! I did that with some huge attenuatas one time--just chopped them off from my old backyard, loaded them in my station wagon, and stuck them in my new backyard--love love love succulents!!😍
The Washingtonia palms will be just fine where they are. Removing the leaf bases can improve the look. But the Eucalyptus are a detritus factory. Looking great.
YAY!!!! So glad the palms are staying! The texture they bring is just BEYOND!! Can Daddy Greg do a video on lighting? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!! I know nothing about it and need to know how to adapt to what May already be there, or how to start from scratch. That could also be your collab with Garden Answer. They had another channel come and help them with converting their giant cold frame into a heated greenhouse and that channel blew up. Aquascape came and did a pondless waterfall for them and they also got a ton of subscribers. If Daddy Greg did a series of videos (with mama Laura’s hilarious commentary) you could send it to them and say ‘hey, we convert lighting all the time! Let us come do it for you for one of your videos.’ Then watch your own channel explode! They keep saying they need lighting, but they have a mix of an old mature garden and a new space. Oh that would be incredible to watch you and Daddy Greg help them light their garden!!!
I will be interested in what problems you have with the droppings from the palms. We have 2 very tall palms that are just the most prolific mommy and daddy to the babies popping up all over! Any tips to cut down on the babies will be appreciated.
I personally do not like the tall palm trees, but I trust your suggestions to work around them. You have a talent that makes things look magical. Can't wait to see next stage and the final reveal.

Being from Minnesota I just love the tall palms. They add so much texture!
The drift wood look beautiful! Imagine the mess they would have made removing the trees. I love the design so far!
