Just so you know, as you were wondering, one bow is very similar in length to Vision Class ships (with Grandeur of The Seas), though this fictional ship has a significantly steeper structure leading up to the bridge. Also, of course the Viking crown lounge (the round elevated structure with 360 windows) is very similar, though placed more forward than the Vision Class ships. The funnel is also directly on top of the lounge in real life. This lounge seems much more rounder than Vision Class, and more like Majesty Of The Seas! ⚓️

So my idea of reason that Poseidon from 2005 capisize is(still makes no sense but nvm): Modern Cruise ships are prepared for Cross Flooding: Left comp. sinks and to make left list less they sink right one. So idk how tere are many options(like bc of Storm, by terrorists) theese doors were closed. So it happens: -bomb explodes on the port(left) side -water floods some food storage and preparing areas on the port side -Martin spots the ship slowly tilting "The ship is sinking" -water gets to more open port areas -ship with a lot of water, people, no stabilizers and things falling capisize -it does is faster and faster bc of all weight on port -ship is turned over -water that ship have collected Goes into some corridors and areas up the water level -windows, doors and other hole gets more water -ship sinks by bow You can give your ideas replying to this comment

To explain why this poseidon capsize from just one hole in the ship, I would say it's because since this version of poseidon was taken over by terrorist suicide bombers they stopped the crew from closing the water type bulkheads because they're main goal wire goal was to pretty much kill everybody on board along with themselves. But the way I saw it when I watched this movie, it didn't go exactly as they planned.

Its possible that a ship may capsize if there is a bomb in the hull in the film the one of the terrorists kills the crew and shuts down all systems including the life support one that includes pumps watertightdoors and many more saefty systems maybe it could be like the Estonia

The ship capsized at 10:PM and sank at 3:PM the next day, so the shop stayed afloat for 17 hours.
