I really liked how they incorporate some of the hallucinations and Hook Man element concepts of RE 3.5 unto Black Verdugo (U-3 or Pesanta) in this one, very very cool and it even makes it a total stand out and more terrifying than its other counterpart the Red Verdugo that Leon fought in the sewers
The new Separate Ways blows the original version out of the damn water. We get a ton of scenes with Luis and Wesker, new puzzles, a more capable grappling hook, new charms, more treasure, new weapons, expanded lore, new cutscenes, new boss fights, new areas, and greater cohesion with the main story. The remake version is also more focused on horror and atmosphere than the original was. 10 bucks is a steal for this DLC.
Changes I See : 1. The Black Verdugo become the U-3 with his Plaga Tail separate in the end. 2. Fighting El Gigante while grappling from roof to roof. 3. Saddler has a Back up Tentacles in his fight. 4. I don't if that was a Hunter since it's appearances kinda different with the Alpha and the Beta.
In case you didn't notice, the music that plays in when Wesker steps outside is the same one that plays in the OG Resident Evil 5, when Wesker has his first flashbacks with Spencer

The Verdugo fight in the beginning, the elements of the hallucination and Hook Man vibes from RE 3.5; the grapple gun improved mechanics; the El Gigante fight on the farm; the U-3 being the Verdugo; the laser room and more participation from both Luis and Wesker. Not only that, but they incorporated some old aspects. Rather, easter eggs, in the soundtrack. The old theme from the original game, the ost from the original RE2 (Leon and Ada's goodbye from the B scenario in the original RE2 game) and the RE5 theme at the ending (from the scene of Wesker's reveal and flashback of Spencer), this being a reference to the possibly upcoming RE5 Remake.
I honestly was pleasantly surprised how long it was. I’m on my 2nd play through now with the unlocked difficulty. The remastered serenity song made me tear up from the nostalgia.

How unpleasant and annoying that the directors of Resident Evil have said that León, if he were in Ada's situation, would not have survived in the laser beam chamber in the remake for not having the flexibility and ability of a spy, although the argument they use is understandable, after all they argue that in the original León was trained by an ultra secret agency under the direct orders of the president and was the bodyguard of the presidential family and someone with experience and a past in control while the one in the remake was not a prodigy in the combat like in the original and received another type of training in the army and under the command of Krauser, the original was a super spy and the one in the remake a good soldier, ok ok I like Capcom but Those characteristics that you removed made León special and knowing that if he were in that chamber he would not have had the skills like Ada to avoid them is sad and the excuse of "another type of training and "situation" is unconvincing to me...
They said that León would not have survived in the laser chamber because his abilities and characteristics were different from Ada in the remake and different from the original León. man that bothered me, they say that situations like running quickly from a giant moving rock and dodging it exactly was something for a super secret agent too fast and león not It is in the remake, also that the remake Lion does not have the conditions to overcome many situations of the original resident evil 4 such as running from a giant statue while avoiding parts of buildings and jump to the other side of the bridge, because according to them León has "different" characteristics and another type of training..............

The new monster’s design and method of killing Ada reminds of these two creatures from other Resident Evil media: 1.) A B.O.W. from S.D. Perry’s continuity nicknamed “The Fossil”, which resembled a cross between a Tyrant and Hunter, plus would eat its targets. 2.) What the RE3 Remake’s Hunter Gammas could have looked more like, had their design been closer to that of the original RE3’s Hunter Gammas.

Cool boss fights, the U-3 remix with the black robe, the El Gigante fight swinging between rooftops, and Saddler going full Doctor Octopus with his back tentacles - I found him a harder fight than the Leon version. It was awesome they even put a new monster in with the Mantico, but shame it wasn't really a proper boss. Still, this is hands down the best DLC for any Resi yet.
Yup it is. It's one of Los Illuminados BioWeapon. They were working on it, to infused Hunter and Las Plagas parasite, would give strength and growth rate. But end up a failure and went out of control, attacking everyone.
Nah, leave Krauser's boss fight unique to Leon. Krauser's death in Leon's hands was perfect and emotional the way it was. Wouldn't be good to have Ada killing Krauser again. The Remake didn't show anything about Krauser and Ada knowing each other.

I kind of miss the plot thread of Krauser also working for Wesker, and Ada's rivalry with him. As for Ada's voice actress...I really like her. She does a phenomenal job in my opinion. I wish Ada's character appeared to actually care about Leon from time to time like in the original, but otherwise she's absolutely perfect.

As an overall package, Remake Separate Ways is far superior to the original's version. No contest.
