Todd is proof that when I talk to my fur baby she understands, which then means that when I talk to her and she ignores me, it is on purpose. I knew it!😂❤❤❤
Ive noticed he tends to follow all their conversations when hes around, looking at them each in turn before they answer what the other has said. Makes me suspect he is just as knowledgeable about the buttons as Todd, but just doesn’t want to use them.
I love Todd's stretch before he speaks, like he's limbering up before he pushes his buttons, then the way he walks away from the buttons, and sits looking at Dad to let him know he's done talking. He's so smart. He understood that Dad was asking for more information because he wasn't sure what Todd was trying to tell him, and Todd went right back to the buttons (stretch, stretch, limber, limber) to tell Dad that his family were all home and inside. 🥰🥰🥰
Often Billie and Bunny will/would also stretch, or yawn, while preparing long thoughts. I'm reminded of infants (6 month to 13 months of age) as they learn to speak.
Todd was trying hard to give Paulie the "evil eye" stare, but Paulie was just not making any eye contact at all, so Todd had take matters into his own paws. Get your stinky butt away from my communication device, Paulie!
I found the order of the names interesting: Glamour, Mom, Paulie. Is Glamour at the top of the hierarchy? Mom has less clout than Glamour, but more than Paulie? And where do Dad and Todd fit in, before Mom or after? Or maybe I’m way off base. One thing for sure, Todd perceives his humans and fellow cats as his colony/family. What an intelligent guy! Btw, I’m so proud of Paulie for not leaving after Todd asked him to move. Atta boy, Paulie! You belong in the family and maybe you know that now. 🩷🩷🩷😻😻😻
I am also proud of Todd for not chasing him and was good with just having him move a little so he wasn't on it. From behaviors iv seen, I believe in Todd's eyes the order would be Dad, Glamour, Todd, Mom, and then Paulie.
At the beginning, Todd was watching Paulie as he rolled over on the button board and I could tell he was annoyed and had to tell Paulie (nicely) “get off, bro” Shows that kitties can set and enforce boundaries between siblings. This long sentence was quite impressive and does make sense that Todd is reporting to Dad what went on at Home Inside, while Dad wasn’t there. I loved how he can use his new words, like inside and home in such complex ways. Now we know cats think about and remember their day and like to update their hooman who was not at home!
Todd has definitely shown that cats frequently ruminate :) He is exceptional though.- the only cat I’ve seen so far who takes human language seriously. It is entertaining watching him express his thoughts…it must be quite the process for a cat :)
Absolutely amazing!!! He is something else! He continues to amaze us every time you post Daddy! I bet you get such immense joy from teaching and watching him show you what he’s learned on a daily basis! He’s just like one of your kids! You are absolutely amazingly patient and brilliant with him and Glamour and Paulie as well! Great job Dad!
Todd makes sense of the days events, it is great how he communicates that through the buttons. and sweet how he combines things together to complete the thought.
Really amazed me how after you said "tell me more" he got up & went back to do just that! Love all your kitties & videos but Todd reminds me of a little professor with his intelligence 🎓
Ok, we have ALL been impressed with this handsome floof, from whenever we each started following him. But this is getting to a level of genius that is almost unbelievable! Thank goodness you film all of this, cuz I don't think many would believe you otherwise. THis is so far beyond teaching a cat to push a specific button for a specific "want", like brush, mousey etc. This is full on human language interaction with a floof! Incredible!!
I think you are absolutely right in your last comment in the video. It is absolutely amazing how he learns more and more to express himself through human words. "Great job Dad"!
It's funny how almost every cat given fluent pet buttons gets protective of their board. Like it's really the most important item in their lives haha. At least Todd just gently poked Paulie, i saw some cats properly attacking other cats for touching their boards.
He is fine with the others around it, walking on it and I don't think he would mind if they used it. He has serious OCD and does not want anything on it. If a toy lands on it, he will go bat it off. One time, I dropped an eyeglass lens wipe wrapper, and it landed on his boars. He went and said Look. When I looked, he was glaring at me, then down at the wrapper, then back at me like you better come clean up your mess. Lol. Which I did.
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalksmy old cat had OCD (diagnosed), and had strong feelings when smooth surfaces were marred. I stuck a plastic hook on the side of my computer to hold my headphones once. Big mistake. She hissed at it and spent the day chewing the hook part off, and the rest of the week figuring out how to pry the rest off (she got it faster than I could, but she was probably obsessing full time about the problem). Things Will Be Right in this house, darn it!
It's amazing how he and other kitties have taken to the buttons. It gives us such insight into their personalities and perspectives. Todd's such a sweetheart. ❤️🐾😸
Interesting. The thing that came to my mind was that maybe Todd was trying to express the concept of family. I know he hasn't gotten that word yet, and I've seen a couple talking dog RUclipsrs who taught their dogs about social groups. About being dogs vs. humans, about being family, about being friends (don't know how many friends Todd has since he doesn't go out). But anyway, Mom, Glamour, and Paulie are family. A family shares a den (home inside). But maybe that's not it and he was talking about you being gone.
Yes amazing ! I knew when I seen Paulie leaning on the buttons he was gonna get told to move, Todd was nice about it lol but yea amazing how he thinks and was right, he left out you because you weren’t “inside home “
Todd is thinking in cat words, expressing that in human words, with limited buttons to do this, yet every time he makes his thoughts clear, how incredibly smart is Todd? Also he is amazingly caring, he thinks about all his family, and shows he loves you all. We are indeed blessed to have cats in this world. Love you Todd, stay safe everyone, hope you have a good year ahead in 2025 ❤❤
I wonder if Todd was just pointing out that you'd been out for a while during the day leaving him, Glamour, Paulie and Mom inside, which is different than the last few weeks. Paulie seems more relaxed lately. It's nice to see him so chill.

For a minute, I thought Todd was going to tell us all a joke,...Glamour, Mom, and Paulie walk into a bar. As they each take a seat at the bar, they hear, "You all look very nice today." Mom asks the bartender, “Who said that?!” The bartender says, “Oh, those are just the peanuts. They’re complimentary!"

He’s so smart. Imagine all our pets who cannot speak, but are intelligently thinking, just as us. They just have no way to express to us what they want to say, except for his new invention now. It’s amazing, and they learn, just as a child learns how to speak a language and express them selves. I’m amazed at Todd’s continuing to put complex sentences together.
I agree with other commenters that Todd was accurately expressing the concept of family. I think he likes it when you are all home together. Sweet to see his gentle interaction with Paulie. ❤ I just love watching your sweet little feline family. I'd be afraid to videotape my four. They like to squabble in the early hours of the morning, before I am ready to get up. I have to keep my door closed at night because someone jumped on my head TWICE while I was asleep and punctured my scalp to where I was bleeding all over the place and had to take a shower in the middle of the night to wash all the blood out of my hair. So, no one gets to be in my room after I go to bed!
We are starting to see really complex multi-button uses the way we saw Billie use them. That''s incredible that was actually really coherant. I wouldn't be able to resist hitting those buttons in a response.
This was really something. At first, I thought he was trying to say something about Glamour and Mom, that they have something in common. That they’re different from Todd, Paulie and Dad. That idea may come to him eventually! But he doesn’t seem to ever “veg out”; his mind is always going.

Paulie, excuse me, you're laying on my superpower, and I need to use it. Thank you! ❤
