Isaiah #70 - The wicked and the Land Promises

Last week we read through Psalm 16, 37, and 73. There were some passages in the last two psalms that on first read appeared to teach that the wicked will be annihilated. How do we reconcile these passages with the biblical teaching that the wicked will have eternal conscious existence in Hell, the place of punishment and torment? The answer to this has something to do with the biblical promises concerning the land of Israel. After talking very briefly about a previous question concerning the fear of the LORD, we spend the rest of the hour on what it means to perish and how this is related to God's promises involving the Land. As it turns out, it is important to understand the Land theology as it opens up so much of the Bible to you.
