Thank you for the information. To repair your radio, you need to get hold of the firmware files. Or Find the sequence of buttons to do a master reset . On the very old radios like yours, you are talking about I don’t believe they were firmware upgradable but good luck my friend
It can be a bit complicated, but I love my FT1XD (bought another) and sold the FT2D. Love the full key pad, dual band, wide receive, digital, great little old HT. 73 and Cheers!
Yes, it is a bit complicated, but I think that is because of the cramped multiple features on such a small screen. But if you take your time and eliminate features which are self explanatory. The rest becomes clearer 73 David and thanks
This was my first HT. Great little radio. I haven’t used it in a while though. Would love a video taking a deeper dive into the radio and all its functions.
Hi Chris I don't have that HT myself, but you are an inspiration for all radio ham's. The likes of yourself and others that produce fabulous videos Cheers de Mark 2E1CEQ
The D7 was an excellent handheld. I had 2 of them (I had more money than sense back then lol) but it was let down by not having a built-in GPS. I remember walking around with the D7 in one pocket and GPS in another. The GPS was bigger than the radio 🙄 I think the Yaesu handhelds have more useful features overall. 73 de G0TVJ

Thank you, what a super comment Mark. I just create videos about what ever I am interested in…..
@Digital Analogue Ham
You're welcome , however, I may ask some questions later 73
You’re not an old git Chris. Great little radio buddy.
Thanks 👍
The first APRS handheld was the Kenwood TH-D7 which was released in the early 2000s.
Thank you, I was referring to Yaesu but I don’t think I made it clear. Is that radio you mention the first ever handheld to do aprs

I just read your message again I would recommend trying to do the firmware upgrade again, possibly on a different computer
Probably one of the cheapest ways to get on Fusion - This or the FT-70d
Absolutely Steve. And it does. Aprs also. With a wide band receiver that does less than 1 MHz to 999MHz. Bargain thanks for watching.
