Ok, now you've really started something! I just went to Goodreads and copied and pasted the thumbnails of several of my kids favorites to incorporate into their book charms for the journals I'm creating for each of them!! One, Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue, Fish, Anansi and the Moss-Covered Rock, Tikki Tikki Tembo, Click, Clack, Moo Cows That Type, Kay Thompson's Eloise, Where the Wild Things Are and Too Tired (by Ann Turnbull - my youngest's absolute favorite, lol!) Thank you Leah! You never fail to inspire me, I appreciate you so much!
Oh my goodness. I remember sitting in my son’s Kinder class (he’s 35 yrs now) having a tea party and listening to Love You Forever. I will forever remember that moment.❤️
Junie B. Jones is the first “big girl” book I read & really sparked my love for reading. The whole series is so nostalgic for me & would make be so retro & cool as a book charm!! 🫶🏽
oh my goodness! My daughter is a teacher and they are having a book character parade at her school and she is going to be the pink crayon from that book💖 She's even going to carry a little crayons on strike sign😂
The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland and Tha Labrynth! My favorite movies as a kid and still to this day! Both are great books and have a permanent place on my bedside table 😊 Love your videos, I am learning so much!
I need to make cupcakes and bribe my way into using my friend’s printer 😂 My dream book charms would be all the Richard Scarry books I loved as a child, especially Busy Busy Town ❤ Thanks for this tutorial!
I would definitely do the Twilight series, Outsiders, Anthem, Sundays at Tiffany's, Where the Heart is,and the classics like Emma, Wuthering Heights, etc. Maybe all my favorites. I saw someone turn their 2024 book list into lil books and shove in ornament to document their 2024 reading list . Cute idea.
Are you there God it’s me Margaret, received it as a gift when I was 9, I still have it 51 years later. I would also love to make Little House on the Prairie Books, the covers are beautiful
I absolutely love Jan Karon's Mitford series of books. I would create several charms depicting the iconic parts of the book (Barnabas the dog, the orange marmalade cake, etc.). Since the series has several books, one could have so much fun creating a journal per book. Thanks for sharing and inspiring me. By the way, I love your scissors!
Oh I love this question!!! 📚💖 lately since I’ve been collecting thrift store kids books or goodwill in the kids section for my kiddos I came across my favorite nostalgic kids books “The Berenstain Bears” I’ll never forget growing up and my start of loving the library that had these books I could check out at school and always loved mama bear papa bear and sister and brother bear, & especially their tree house! It brought comfort to escape as a child looking back from a broken home and til this day love them. My toddlers love them now and the books especially 🥲🐻🏡💖💙❤️💛. 80s baby here so I’ve a lot of cool old school books, but now thank you! I’m going to look up charms to make too of other sweet nostalgic books 🥹🎃love your content and big heart, thank you again for sharing your love of things old and new, a kindred spirit and community I love in you and others❤.
Ohhhh, you really did make this look easy!!! My 8 yr old picks The Wild Robot, and I pick either Memoirs of a Geisha or go retro vibes with Mickey Mouse's Picnic.❤
I love the book Santa Mouse. My kids always left out cheese for Santa mouse. I just remember those times when they were young and we read the book and left out cheese. Memories. I would love to make a mini book of that.
Thanks you, that will be something great for my children (school) at the end of the school year for graduation. Definitely is a great Idea. Thanks you very much
Love this idea! I can’t wait try it!!!! I would love a Richard Scary book What do people do all day or the velveteen Rabbit! Those were my favorites as a kid!
Super cute idea! I would make something from my tween/teen years. Nancy Drew, Babysitter's Club, Sweet Valley High. One of my favorite books as a child Miss Susie as well.
Thank you so much for the book charm idea. It's so fun! I'm a lurker stepping out of the shadows to say "hi!" 😊 Also, one of my favorite childhood book is "There's A Monster at the End of This Book" starring Grover. I own three copies and I don't care that I'm 57 and do so! 😂 And I do like your thrifting vlogs, as I am a thrifter as well.
I’d create The Little Red Hen. I have very clear memories of my mom reading it to me when I was very young. She passed when I was in my 20s.😢. Miss her!
I’ve made lots of mini books for my dollhouse. I would like to make the books I read for the year into little charms or make them to keep in a jar to commemorate my reading list.
Panda Cake by Rosalie Seidler. It is a treasured book from my childhood and it took me forever to track down as an adult since I couldn't remember the title. I'm so glad that I was able to find and share it with my kids, who also love it!
Those are so darling 🤩 Can’t wait to make some for my journals. If I could choose any book it would have to be Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. Love that story.
Very cute journal charms. Thank you for sharing the tutorial. I think I would turn golden books into charms, my favorite golden book was one that I loved as a kid, and it was the Red Riding Hood one. I think there was more than one Red Riding Hood, so probably the older version. I'd also do a Harry Potter one, but I think I have done those as a charm before or bought them as a charm. I don't think I would have a favorite. I like all little mini books. Maybe whatever the theme of the next journal I'm making, would be the theme of the mini book I could make as charms. Have a great week looking forward to your Vlog.
Oh my gosh was this fun to watch. My head was spinning with ideas. I would love to find the Grinch, Oscar the Grouch or anything Suess. My friend came for a 4 day visit and I set us up to make dangles. We made about 100. They are nothing like yours, which are ALL BEAUTIFUL!! But YOU inspired me on your short. The clinking sound got me. TFS and inspiring ❤
Bravo, Leah! I am so going to do this for my next book club meeting. I had a hard time picking just one book: I would do the old man and the sea by hemingway. I love the simplicity of the picture and the different fonts.
I love Richard Scarry books. I read these to my children when they were young. And even painted the walls of a nursery at my old church back in 2006. We painted different scenes from the books. The kids loved it. But as a child, I loved Chicken Little and The Little Red Hen. I just loved those two books and still do. These book charms are so adorable. You’re making me crazy 😜 with all these cute charms. I am constantly looking out for anything little that I can make into a charm. 😁Thanks for sharing. ❤️😘🤗💕
What a great idea and it really is so easy for such a WOW statement. I would like to try it as the Better Homes and Garden series of binders, specifically the Recipe Book.
I would definitely have to recreate a Junie B. Jones charm!!! Those were my favorite books as a kid my mom ran around trying to find me every single one! I was a wild little girl just like Junie B. 😅
Fun tutorial! I would make mini Better Homes and Gardens Cookbooks! I have three copies of that book - the 1950s copy, my Grandma's 1970s copy, and my mom's 1980s copy! (Yes there is some variation to the recipes, the covers are different, and the photography inside is different!) ❤👩🍳📚
Thanks for this video Leah. I can’t want to make some Christmas book mini charms for the holidays. I would turn a retro 80’s Strawberry Shortcake book into a mini book charm if I could pick any 🥰.
