  • Tomoe Nage is truly a beautifully throw, that symbolizes main principles of judo, tough it is seen in movies more often than in competition.
    In this video I try to cover some of the basic technical aspects of this throw, advantages and disadvantages with real life examples. Stay tuned for part 2 in which I'll cover Yoko Tomoe Nage (more competition geared cousin of Tomoe Nage).

    Something else I think is important to say is that if you don't have the opponent moving towards you, you need to be close to them to get the best momentum in the beginning of the throw.
