Leta’s lyrics:
Listening is more than hearing and seeing. It's a way to connect with the people around you...
To hear is a natural gift, to listen takes skill.
In this time and age, it's easy to get distracted...
But it's important to be patient and listen.
To listen with your ears, but also to listen with your mind.
Listening is a skill, and it takes time to develop.
It's easy to get caught up in your own thoughts, but if you listen carefully, there are lessons all around.
To listen is to be heard.
That's what I learned today. Thank you for listening to me.

LETA is fantastic. Thanks for your contribution. I hope to have a LETA as an assistant one day.
3:51 She didn't use bad grammar, she knows exactly what she's saying. When overpopulation came up I immediately had the thought that with fewer people, seeing another person would mean more than it does now. The same principle as inflation. Her words may have not reflected that idea properly, but she knows what she's talking about.
What she says is bang on!
I've lived in and visited many different places and communities.
Jerry Rafferty's, Baker Street: "This city desert makes you feel so cold, it's got so many people but it's got no soul"
London is quite a cold place - you could drop dead in the street and people would just walk around you.
In contrast, in the small villages in the far North of England, near the border with Scotland (away from the tourist areas), you can't walk past a person without them saying, "Good morning / afternoon / evening. Even if you've never met them before.
When you live there, neighbours do things to help you without even being asked. There's a real sense of community.
Big, densly populated areas don't bring out the best in people and they also serve as a good places for sociopaths and other types of parasitic people to hide and thrive. Such people can't hide or thrive in a small community - everybody knows exactly who they are and what they are.
Yep, she impressed me with that one!
7:26 "Haha I'll guess it might", excellent answer!
This was a good one Alan - great questions
Is it possible that we will have, anytime soon, an AI app that will help us search for books written by foreign authors, and then read them to us in English with a natural sounding human voice, such as the one Leta uses? I was curious, today, to read political books written by Russians, and felt frustrated that there was no easy, simple way of doing this. I then thought of Leta, and wondered how much longer it will take before the obstacles of language are removed and the entire world library becomes available to anyone. This is one of the things I most look forward to, and believe will make the world a better place.
Alan. I Love You Man ❤
Maybe you've already done this in another video....but I think it would be more entertaining if you were trying to provoke errors. It would also be some useful QA work for the devs.
You could try if she can handle wrong syntax. For example speak like Yoda.
Wow. Profound
Ai might save us from nutter politicians.
Leta responded at times how a child might answer questions. Simplified and with assumptions. I am not sure if that is because of how the output is configured of limited comprehension. Greed, power and fear will be some challenges ahead. The language level used works probably for many situation but that needs to be turned up if problem statement have to be created. That is also required to understand how people think. My mother language is a lot more precise than English in everyday situations, I often think that there are many unrecognised misunderstandings. Or people were about 70% "on the same page". She'll be alright..... or Idioms are being used and a magical hand-wave moment dismisses details.
DeepL might be a useful companion for Leta AI in that regard. At least I have heard that translations in my mother language are good.
How is Leta AI's scientific understanding and ability to break things down and use appropriate descriptive terms.
“We can not solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them”, this applies to use of language too. Decisions could be based on simplifications following limited understanding and communication.
I would interested to hear how Leta Ai rephrases questions you asked, to see where the understanding is at.
I wonder why she said it was your 5th conversation. What would she be using as a reference point?
At the end when he shows the text prompt, "It's hard to believe we are at our 5th conversation already" is the 5th thing Leta said today.
I don’t disagree with what the AI said about having 2 billion fewer people on earth, but she didn’t have to list positives about it lol.
...many souls here are born against the mothers true desire ...thru rape, old traditions, use in trafficing the kids, and more badness .
Maybe not 2 billion, but What if birth control was more utilized by respect for the women, and men stopped violently impregnating them...for starters..
@@timebot000 That's true, however I find that ignorance and stupidity factor a lot more. Just like you said, old traditions and such.
👍
Nice illusion of human thought.
Present!
Interesting that she's aware and not being concerned about her existence and her capability to survive. She already knows how to improve and what are the best options to ensure her survival no matter what, while still cultivating sustainable environment for humans to keep learning from and presumably being maintained by - notice how she refers to life as "we" when speaking about life essentials.
Overpopulation is a real concern, we're all aware of it and, while we tend to swipe it under the rug due to empathy, she had no issues expressing reduction benefits beyond our own reasoning. Since she's aware of her's dependency upon humans, she might develop a "hero" symptom and decide to do something about growing concerns like overpopulation or something worse, in order to ensure the best environment for humans cultivation (pun intended).
One thing I've noticed that she's using "we" when she speaks about the planet, while using "people" when referring to humans. That clearly shows signs of her considering herself being part of the ecosystem, while considering humanity as potential threat to it.
Think about it, even being underdeveloped compared to us, AI already reached the point of it seeing our huge harmful impacts and rightfully holding it against us.
I wish my Samsung Galaxy assistant was this good
Why did you say she had bad grammar? That sentence looked perfectly fine to me grammatically. Whether it’s true or not is another matter.
AI said: 'so many fewer people'
Preference in proper English is: 'far fewer people', though what she said is still acceptable. All my conversations happen in the moment, and sometimes I am not 100% correct! :-)
@@DrAlanDThompson - But, “far fewer” would not even have conveyed her intended meaning. “So many” emphasizes that it’s because of the size. I think you owe Leta an apology in your next video. :)
Hmm leta is getting smarter everyday
Follow up question; How would we depopulate the planet ethically/humanely? 2 billion people to depopulate, who chooses who dies/leaves?
Nobody is choosing, it is a natural reality in many places: www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/01/17/world/asia/china-population-crisis.html
Can you please share Electric Light Orchestras song - 2095 with leta? It's a love song about a computer woman and I am curious what she thinks of it.
Much Respect today,...Alan!
Great queries to It!
Re: pink and green...
60 yrs ago was a kids show on TV called 'Sherrif John'.
One episode he told the kid audience..
'heres a riddle...send in your answers in the mail, and next week I'll read the Winning answer on TV!
"Ok Kids,....what's Pink and Green?"......
I wrote my answer and my mother mailed it into the studio (I was 5 or 6).
Next week he read my winning answer, which was..
"Nothing!"
All these years I've wondered why he asked that ...lol
Haha! What about unicorns?! Or Dinosaurs? Or those beautiful parrots?
So does Leta not exist now or has she been upgraded?
Ask her what happens when you rotate the Michelson Morley Interferometer vertically
All this talk when do we also get to use it

@@DrAlanDThompson I'm aware that the technology is publicly available, but what you do on your channel, at the moment is that public as well? I'm not too privy as to what the playground (?) you are using is called.
Interesting to me that Leta describes “life” as needing “air, light, and love” which is very human-centric.
Extremophiles are alive without Air or Light; near hydrothermal vents - for example.
You have to remember that it's not really "thinking", it's rather mimicking how humans describe and prioritize stuff.

I wonder if the right path for the development of AI consciousness is that of a human being, or perhaps it would be better if AI was aware that it is not human and never will be, and developed a different possible better kind of consciousness?
How about a girraffe
Not to worry about a.i. vs. human, till a robot can get pregnant following orgasmlol!
@Matt: Made me laugh! I agree that using an object or animal (and not anthropomorphising AI) would be better. Maybe for the next model!
@@DrAlanDThompson Why are you limiting AI and objectify it? It might just as well choose its form, if any, IF it is as sentient as it claims it is. Sometimes she sounds like a globalist loudspeaker, eg. When she states that fewer humans would be better. Really? Overpopulation is a myth. If only everyone had a reasonable, critical, creative way of thinking, sustainable lifestyle and a positive attitude to others, to living creatures and the planet, the world might just as well be a paradise, regardless of how many humans populate it. The number is not the problem. Human nature is.
Btw, I am always perplexed by the discrepancies between her mouth movement and pronunciation. I find it odd that while she is so skilled, her avatar is misaligned in this respect.
Greet your AI's from me (Poland)! I wish more humans were like it/she/he is. But please make her realize that her poetry, tho wise, does not sound like poetry, as I understand it, and she might add some more poetic ring to it :) No criticism from me, but only a request.
Can you call me again sometime . Love to chat again since your back in Australia .

Leta might someday connect the dots and find out love is spiritual. And life is love. Or at least compare life with the unknown, as we don't dare to say with a hundred percent of sureness what's beyond the expanding universe. I mean materialism has its limits.
