I mean like there are decent ones at around 50 so like I would start with those and then move up. A cheap racket can influence your play, as if it doesn't have much spin, you would naturally cut or hit harder, and when you fully commit to playing, it would be pretty difficult to adjust.

When i played as a young dude, i had 2 rackets. A light one, with only 2 layers, and a heavy one with 4 layers. IF you are used to the light one, you have more control over your power and direction, because it is less accellerating the ball by its design, but by your input, you choose more, and it does get influenced less by the spin of the opponent, because it has less grip of course. Also it is lighter, so, over a match, your arm gets less tired, and your shots stay the exact same , if you are well trained, whilst with a heavy racket, it can happen, that you don't even get, that you are a bit exhausted, because it still gives you the magic power by its design. A heavy Racket is comfy and better if you work with spin a lot. But if you are a power player, a light racket can be so nice. Also a little trick is, wipe it over the sweat on the arm, and dry it right after on the shirt, so it is super clean, and almost has grip like the heavy one, but it is LIGHT :-p . It is like in Tennis. A soft tension on the racket gives you more power and spin, a hard tension, more control, and spin neutralisation. It really depends on your playstyle. But whom i tell. This video made me want to buy a Pongfinity Sensei and start working on my table tennis drills again! I really miss playing! Great Job Miikka, Emil, and Otto Sensei!
I played in my mid teens and got very good with proper rackets and a lot of grip on the rubber. I came back to it 30 years later and all the training was still in me. But I wasn't hitting as well. I played against a good player at a university, and after a couple of games where he beat me easily we swapped rackets. He had my 'good' racket from a general sports store, marketed as 'high grip', and I played with his actually good racket. Suddenly my flick backhands off the serve were going in and past him. I won the game. You can play with any racket, but having a good one truly does make your game better. It felt great because I suddenly was playing nearer my old level. Only problem was his tiny pen-grip handle. I'll get back to it again before long, and I'll be getting a decent racket.
Back when I played competitively our family had an Australian representative player stay with us as he was up for a tournament. My brother and I both played "competitively" and we both struggled to score a point against the player when we were playing with decent quality bats and he was playing on a bat with no rubber. The skill of the player definitely makes more difference than the bat but the bat allows a player to do much more and more easily.

This will honestly make more people want to buy a more expensive racket in my opinion. Cause people who might have been demoralized believing there is a colossal difference between the 1 and 5 stars can now see the 1 star has potential and as they get more into the sport can opt for 5 star instead of possibly quitting the sport if they couldn't afford a more expensive paddle
if you dig a bit on table tennis sites you can find out that you can make your own bat (a very decent one) for about 60-65$. An example would be a DHS Power G7 blade (around 35$) and Rakza 7 rubbers (around 10-11$ each) from china.
You guys are great, you make sure not to sound biased and it makes you guys look great when you are comparing it to your own racket at that, it makes you guys look really good too.

Quality fun from you guys this time again :) I would just like to mention, that on your store site, the ESN hardness degree for the Sensei rubber is not specified, and there is no real meaning of "five stars" racket (e.g. some sport stores sold six stars racket, and they were still pretty misdesigned).

Very educative video. Some years ago we bought real rackets and rubbers with my son. The spin and reaction was so strong that we could play in the beginning a max of 2 shots - serve and return or no return. But the progress is amazingly fast later on. Not to top level of course but enough to beat friends, that used to be equal, with ease and very soon. My advice from experience would be to switch to a very good racket and rubber early because it forces upon you to improve very fast. Exactly because it is not forgiving. I regret that I had not done that tens of years earlier!
on the first one I don't think it was the racket's fault. I noticed how you were holding the 1 star racket, and you didn't put as much spin on the ball as you did with the 5 star racket. Also, the way you guys were doing it, it seemed like you have all done the trick before.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, and skill is in the hands of the racket holder. It's not always about the racket, these guys are just amazing at what they do no matter what
1 star racket is also apparently atleast 2kg heavier than the 5 star because in the gameplay test even the sensei himself started panting once he wielded the cheap 1 star racket
I thought I was nuts to spend that much money for a paddle/batt but I bought two one for me and one for my wife we enjoy the heck out of them. Thanks pongfinity.
Like with any skill. It’s important to master the skill first! After that, an excellent tool will just be that, a tool to enhance your skill set and not necessarily advance your skill set! I think this holds true for pretty much all skills, be it in sports or life! This video attests to that. Even with the one star racquet these guys are mind blowing!
Interesting, but not very scientific. For a fair thorough comparison it would need blind tests to eliminate or avoid bias (maybe a robotic arm performing the exact move on both rackets, if possible) and a wider sample size.
Entertaining video as always! Just one concern regarding your racket. Since rubbers usually lose their grip after approximately 100 hours of play (give or take), can you actually rebuy only the rubbers from you? Would be a shame if someone really likes the rubber but cannot buy the rubbers separately as is the case for every other table tennis rubber.
First off, they didn't just immediately dismiss the 1-star racket and say it's bad, they said that you can indeed do most things with the 1-star, it's just easier and better with the 5-star. They also did not say "our sensei racket", but instead "5-star" och "this one".
I like the fact that they give honest reviews on both rackets instead of making the 1 star one look really bad and their amazing for sales
Yeah i want to buy to 1 star after this review. It looks amazingly good ! The quality/price is way better than the 5 stars mdr

You make me love Ping pong! . My racket is actually like 15 dollars I can’t afford more than this and the racket is still awesome in my opinion.
Imagine Joo Saehyuk the legendary chopper using that 5-star racket against you.😂
Challenge: Make a Table tennis racket with legos and play with it😀
As lego fan, I recomend you do to it with technic and tiles parts
at 5:18 the hit sounds went perfectly with the song's synth sound
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, and skill is in the hands of the racket holder.
It's not always about the racket, these guys are just amazing at what they do no matter what
I've played ping pong like 3 times in my entire life, yet here we are at 3 am.
Can u do a new challenge! Every time u win a point your paddle gets progressively bigger or smaller???
That's a good idea actually
I am impressed. Just bought my Pongfinity Senesi racket .. excited 😊.. thanks guys u rock..👍
I like the fact their ability to win a point is directly related to them holding their own rackets. Inspiring stuff👍🏻
Nothing short of excellent! Respect.
If consider the price, the $5 one is a big win, haha. When I started play TT 20 or 25 years ago, most of us used this kind of $5 racket......in China.
Pongfinity is the best at pingpong☆○☆
alternate title: REASONS WHY U SHOULD BUY THE PONGFINITY RACKET
I just love the way that they are always honest and king
3:17 Otto going “uggghh” everytime he hits
Me thinking that’s fake just to show that the 5 star is better
2:49 mikkas life flashing before his eyes XD
1 star racket is also apparently atleast 2kg heavier than the 5 star because in the gameplay test even the sensei himself started panting once he wielded the cheap 1 star racket
i really wish you shipped the sensei racket to england
It is a truly genuine review.
Appreciate it..👍❤️❤️
I am an intermediate player and I have a 4 star racquet that i really love..
It has great spin and great control.
Imagine rating your own paddle lol
5:19 the music had a sync with Otto and Miikka hitting the ball!
I thought I was nuts to spend that much money for a paddle/batt but I bought two one for me and one for my wife we enjoy the heck out of them. Thanks pongfinity.
Glad to hear that!
@@Pongfinity Hello Guys. Please help me. Please.
The sounds Otto does when using 1 star racket 😂 2:53
I love this channel, they are so creative and always put a smile on my face :)
you make the best tabletennis videos
It's not the racket, it's the player.
NO , SOMETIMES IT'S THE RACKET!!!!!!!!!!!!!😡😠
yeah but with the 1 star it is like they play badly and with 5 they try their best
someone send them to oscar jury.
20th, and do one where Mikka plays with his headband.
Ребята,вы невероятные мастера. Молодцы!! 🤝🏼👍🏼🤝🏼✌🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I love how otto mess some stuff up with a 1 star racket, but can play perfectly well with a bicycle or a toaster...
This is so smart they were able to advertise their racket while making it into a cool video. Props
I was expecting the costlier racket to be 140 times better than the $1 racket but I was pleasantly surprised.
I LOVE to See such Great Scenes; people working hard to achieve a goal for themselves :) Go Ahead Guys and Stay Smilin :)
I'd be very interested in seeing them play vr table tennis, as im curious how much skill would translate to vr
Emil has significantly improved his chops! nice work Emil!
One doesn’t experience self-transcendence, the illusion of self only dissipates🎈
Hi Pongfinity! I am a big fan of your channel.
They make it look so easy😳, insane level of skill, good stuff!
First off, they didn't just immediately dismiss the 1-star racket and say it's bad, they said that you can indeed do most things with the 1-star, it's just easier and better with the 5-star. They also did not say "our sensei racket", but instead "5-star" och "this one".
