Being an older Kpop fan and living most of my life in CA, this song was a mixture of old school West Coast HipHop with a rock flare. You were right that the sound is reminiscent of The Beastie Boys. It also made me think of louder, dirtier version of Run DMC x Aerosmith's - Walk This Way. At the end, that was definitely LA HipHop; something that Snoop, Dr Dre, or Nate Dogg would be on especially with that whiring synth sound in the background of the track.
I definitely felt the Beastie Boys. I get you. I love how KQ producers blend genres and make it feel nostalgic yet fresh. With ATEEZ the nostalgia was from the 80s. With Xikers it’s from the 90s. Have you noticed. I love it so much. My fav song on this album though is Supercalifrajalistic. I had that on repeat so long. Before I even finished listening to the album.
The whole M/V was 90's inspired with hip hop and guitar rock influence from the fashion styling, colour grading and grain filter, sonically with the record scratches. The album is a non skip album in my opinion.
xikers performed Red Sun on a music show today; it isn't a unit song. If you liked Homeboy, you'll probably like Break a Leg. On their last album, there were two reg MVsv(Do or Die and Homeboy), a performance MV (Koong), and two special clip MVs (Sunnyside and Run), so I hope we get a lot this time as well. The member starting the album preview was Sumin. ❤
Supercali IS A BOP!!!! Was not expecting that from them at all!
