Because it's not Duck Hunt if you can see the cursor on the screen, and they can't make a Wii game without the cursor. Plus they need a new ideas to justify a new Duck Hunt. That's just how Nintendo works.
megamike62098 Those games are made to sell to those who like 2D Mario games. Believe it or not, there are people who hate the 3D Mario games because they don't have good depth perception. So to appease those fans, they still make New Super Mario Bros. To be fair, there are only 1 per console, and people still have fun with these games. It may look all the same on the surface, but they like to change it up a little bit for each one. New Super Mario Bros Wii had emphasis on multiplayer. New Super Mario Bros 2 was all about massive coin collecting. New Super Mario Bros U had players use the gamepad to interact with the others.
Aww I'd love a game with the dog and duck like Banjo-Kazooie. There are games I'd like to play on the Wii U, but I think that would just really get me to give in and buy one no matter what.
I love the whole Zapper part that "implies" that WE are a playable character along with the dog and the duck, as in WE are the "someone" holding the zapper
Duck and Dog being the new Bear and Bird in a Banjo Kazooie type game would be so utterly great. I think if anyone can revive that style of gameplay it would be Nintendo.
I mean when Sakurai is done with Smash, he might do a new Duck Hunt game. I mean I'd like to see it happen, since he brought back Pit in Brawl and then when he was done with Brawl, he directed Kid Icarus Uprising.
The least we can expect out of this, I'd imagine, is Sakurai doing something about the MOTHER series. It has HAL Laboratory connections *coughkirbycough*, while neither the Duck Hunt nor the Ice Climber characters do...then again, neither did Kid Icarus.... And Sakurai's actually resigned from HAL. Oops! That's just my excuse for bringing this up. Wasting my breath! Move along. :P

i hope you guys are doing a set of Captain Toad AWESOME videos at some point now that the game is out. it's going to be one of those games that i might consider getting during Christmas time and what better way to see what this game is like than by watching Frashy get stumped to high derp hell playing it. i hope there's a Captain Toad buddy or a Toadette Buddy for those series of videos. looking forward to it.

I've been trying to look for it, but I can't find it.
It was during the COD Advanced Warfare episode, but they didn't post the part where they watched the Nintendo Direct.
