This weeks adventure takes us to our favorite Kauai Farmers Market in Lihue. We were invited to take the Tasting Kauai Lihue Farm Food tour which starts at the Farm Bureau Farmer’s Market at the Kauai Community College. My wife and I are flying in Saturday and we are looking forward to relaxing and taking in all the island has to offer. Three things on my "to do" list:
1. All the best local foods
2. Hiking some great trails and enjoying the beaches.
3. Meeting new people.
Aloha! Now that sounds like an amazing list!!! For #1...definitely add Truckstop Thursday at the Kauai Beer Co in Lihue to your "to-do" because they rotate two food trucks each week and you are going to get the opportunity to eat some delicious food!! Follow them on IG since that is where you'll find out which trucks will be there next week. We talk about good places to get fresh fish and plate lunch in our LIVE video....it's a long one though...haha! Waimea Canyon has so many fantastic hikes! Our tip would be to start really really early in the morning. Get there as the sun comes up and you'll have an amazing day of hiking, can visit the Koke'e Lodge for lunch and then have the rest of your day/evening to relax at the beach. And if you happen to see us around the island as you are out and about please be sure to say ALOHA!!

Great week. Flew with Brodi on Tuesday. Excellent. Brodi’s respect for the culture and love of the island is evident in his narrative. Then dinner at Verdi on Wednesday. It was great. Thanks for the tip. Saturday - off to the market. You guys are great.

OMG!!! I just came back from Kauai on few days ago and I definitely want to go back.
When we were in Kauai last September, we went to the Farmer Bureau market on your recommendation and it was great! That 100% pineapple ice cream is unbelievable. Can't wait to return this year in September! Also, we love the channel and it helps us stay connected to the place we love so much :)

I think the one think we all loved BEST was the White Pineapple!
It is so goooood!!! One of our cycling instructors also works at the sugar loaf pineapple farm and we are hoping to go up there and film one of these days!! Very excited about that!
Oh darn. We’re on Kauai now and missed the market. Didn’t know about it but will definitely hit it this Saturday. On a good note, we’re flying with Brodi on Tuesday morning. Yahoo! Will also try out Verde this week. We love your videos.

I was looking for the video you did covering the sunset at the golf course or the north side. We will be staying at the Cliffs in Princeville next moth for two weeks and that looked so cool. I love your videos and am going thru them again before we go

We went to that market at the Community College and loved it, too! Another one that we discovered was the Culinary Market in Poipu that also had a lot of food vendors, too!
Ah yes the Poipu one is on Wednesday nights at the Shops at Kukui'ula! That's the one you are referring to correct? We work on Wednesday nights so we never get a chance to make it out there. Maybe one of these days we'll have a day off and can film! ;) They usually have live music there too!
@@OnHawaiiTime Yes, that's the one! We had our first White Sugar Loaf Pineapple there! One group was serving Waygu Sliders, too fresh off a small grill!

Yes, Brodi is a helicopter tour pilot and I am an Aviation Insurance Agent. We also own a fitness studio located in Lihue :) Yes I have been to Kikuchi! So yummy!

When in Kauai last Fall the Kauai Community College Farmer's Market was recommended to us and so we went. Wow, such a GREAT Farmers Market! First time tasting the Sugarloaf pineapple! Why can't we get that on the mainland? Next trip to Kauai this late October I will def bring back some of that luscious pineapple!!
Aloha Rita! Isn't it the best!! My best guess is that they leave the pineapple on the plant to the point of ripening here so that's why our pineapples are so much sweeter than the ones you get on the mainland. Start that October visit countdown now! Countdown to pineapple! haha!

Aloha Autumn and Brodi. Love this Farmer's Market. Definitely my favorite. Close second is the market in Koloa on Mondays and the on in Kapaa on, I think, maybe Wednesdays? But the Lihue Farmer's Market is hands down the best. Do you know of any on the north shore? There must be one near Princeville.

We bought some local honey that was really good. I can't remember what kind of flowers they said their bees were harvesting pollen from, but I was impressed that (of course) they were in tune to what exactly was going into their honey. Also, for mainlanders, there are some kinds of fruit available that seem really exotic and are fun to try: dragonfruit, jackfruit, etc.
Great video! My wife has been bugging me about trying those Kauai Sugar Loaf pineapples since we started planning our trip. I am hoping we will be able to try some at a farmer's market. Wednesday can't get here soon enough!

Call and reserve the pineapples at the farmer's markets ahead of time. They are delicious! Google the Kauai Sugarloaf website to find out locations and days.

I expect you’ll be doing Bom Dance videos this summer and yes I want Brodie in a Happi 😂😂 it’s where I first had flying saucers and Sugarloaf pineapple. In fact I cleaned out the entire hongwanji in hanapepe that night😂😂😂😈😈

A few years back my wife and I went to the farmer's market in Lihue or maybe it was Coconuts. I can't remember which but we found the best Mac nut sticky buns made by haole girl Bakery. I was wondering if you could give her some props by doing a review and taste test to let me know your thoughts on haole girls Mac nut sticky buns?
Haole girl pastries are awesome! I look for her at each farmer's market.
Are there fruit stands that serve local fruit daily? It would be awesome to see various ones around the island!!!
That is a great idea for a video! Yes there are random fruit stands that use the honor system around the island. We'll definitely make a video about that one of these days. Aloha~
