The community seems abit divided on the possible punishments that are gonna come to exploiters. I wanna share my thoughts. Roll backs in my opinion can mess up all of the legit players. What do you mean exactly saying "I hope we don't get rolled back"?
@@Beldea98 there was talk of rolling accounts back to before the exploit became a thing.
@@Beldea98 accounts get reset to before the exploit. So if people made X amount of silver after the patch that introduced the exploit they get rolled back and lose what they gained so account go to what they were at before the exploit
@@vAaron-X I don't think that is enough. Silver might be already spent or shared and the cheat also worked on any item you can stack not just silver. How would they find out who did it or donated hilarious amounts to anyone else who haven't did the exploit but benefit indirectly from it?
@@Beldea98 it's all on their data. They know who boarded who, how many times, how much they sold, how much silver they gained. They have everything. That's how they know which players have been reported and if the report was justified too
Anytime there is competition in multiplayer games - we find the worst offenders. In this case the competition is the Helm leaderboard but that is just another thing in games which cause this problem. In Multiplayer games of the past before leaderboards and achievements were introduced, we saw very little cheating. Now it's a full time job for many. They changed the rules so everyone reaching the final goal wins making the cheating here irrelevant. How the accrued finances from cheating can be applied next season is what they need to address.

I am aware of the zoom. But I prefer zoomed out. Also its the mons Meg 3

This really only helps the diehards that care way to much about leaderboards. It does not take that much endgame currency to get the best gear in the game. I only have the main area manufactories and a couple in Africa unlocked and only have one to level 10. I found my sweet spot that gives me enough Po8/Sovereigns to get the gear I wanted. If you are trying to fund every manufactory in the game to level 10 then there is simply not enough silver quick enough to do that. TBH...I can't image why the F you even want to sink that much time into this game at this point. BUT that is my point I guess...the game isn't worth the time right now so to maintain your INSANE time sink, players have found a way to get their lives back. Plus it's a huge grind in order to get to the point to where you can effectively use the "exploit". But should these players get banned? If Ubisoft came out and warned players to not do this method then yes...but if they did not and its because of a flawed mechanic all they can do is fix THEIR broken game so you can't do it anymore. But as I started this...the folks that are in need of this are ALL doing it. So sure ban half the player base and watch an already struggling game finally sink. BTW i have not logged in to this game in over two weeks as THERE IS NOTHING WORTH DOING right now. Good luck to all. thanks.
Just the cosmetic grind
I play solo and never find anyone that wants to team up so not worried about it. I do ask though, how did they find out about it unless they went looking for a cheat?

If something happens to be possible in a game, players stumble across it and it just so happens to work well for their strategy, then I'd say it's more of a bug, than a cheat. For me, it's therefore down to the developers to fix a BUG, not for a ban on players CHEATING. So in my opinion a ban is too far, and if they want it to stop, just fix the bug. Problem solved.
A bug is simply some not working as intended. An exploit is manipulating how the game was intended to be played to gain an advantage. So it is categorised as an exploit
@vAaron-X it's a navel battle game. Finding an efficient way to sink ships and gain loot isn't an exploit. They had an objective to sink 30 player ships. Playing pvp with friends and gaining materials and exp is a big part of this game.
@@deavyhick6803 they're manipulating how the game should be played. It shouldn't be take it in terms to board eachother. That's what makes it an exploit because they're exploiting how the game was intended to be played by essentially Cheating. It was also cheating when people work together in helm wagers which is why they changed that too. If it was intended they wouldn't change it. But because people are exploiting how to game should be played they had to. Ubisoft have called it an exploit how can we argue with the devs
@@vAaron-X whatever they decide to categorise it as, if it’s currently in the game and they don’t want it to be, they should just patch it. Otherwise they can fully expect it to continue and people to consider it OK.

People say to just play the game the way you want and not worry about the leaderboard, but my rank is constantly being shown to me. Is there a way to turn that feature off?

Yeah, that mobile game mentality mechanic is quite annoying as if it was going to motivate me or something. When I see myself falling in the ranks I think - "Thanks for making me feel bad, was that the idea?"

Do they have the player base to ban people? Every time I jump on I can’t find anyone to help with Le Peste, I’ve pretty much given up

It would be a very poor decision to ban everyone that did it. Because I can guarantee at least half the community has done it. Furthermore it’s not a glitch/exploit. We’re just playing the game it was designed. No specific button combo or glitch was done to make this happen. Can’t ban people for playing the game as it was designed, to reward bonus loot for PvP defeats. Then people definitely won’t play the game in the future because they’ll always remember how Ubisoft banned over half their community shortly after the game launched over something that happens in every game. Even it was a glitch/exploit, devs don’t ban people over something like that, they just fix the problem and whoever benefited from it, oh well. It was good while it lasted but now they can’t. If you don’t like it then play a different game, you’ll encounter the same problem with literally every game in existence.

@@vAaron-X yea that does hella structural damage but then you went as used it on ships and still did good damage. My ship build involves Dardanelles all around. Crazy DPS! But after watching yours I was like holy hell what is he using lol
@@Deanomite231 I tend to spend alot of time testing. I wanna get it perfect. Every build you see on my channel has gone through alot of testing. Sometimes multiple weeks because of the amount of weapons and furniture on the game. But yeah it's a great build

I think that the crew boarding should’ve never been enabled for pvp to start with. It was an unintended exploit that people used using a in game mechanic. I dont believe people should be banned, thats to easy. I think their accounts should be reset. Taking away everything hurts more than just taking away the game. I say that because it will give them the notion to go back and play the game and at some point (and they will) they will spend money on cosmetics which will in turn help the game out. Thats just my thought process on how to deal with them. Someone somewhere will always figure out an exploit, so just take away their toys and wait for them to get bored enough with other games and they will come back and an in turn spend money on the in game shop. Ive seen it happen in the past but on a different level, people would just buy the whole game over again and create a whole different account just to be able to play because as you said “it becomes an addiction for them” you meant the exploit but its also the game itself and for them to try and find another exploit. Again thats just how i would deal with them.

I don't have much time to play games, when I find an exploit for one, I usually do them and have never got into any trouble. Well see if I get banned for using all of them in this game

@vAaron-X it's nothing to be ashamed of. What's wrong with people getting the most out of their time and money they invested in a game? You're crying about something that doesn't affect you or the real world in anyway. It's gives no advantage to the players using it, it only helps the whole player base. You seem upset because people aren't playing the game how you want them too. They probably have jobs and kids and can't spend 10 to 12 hours a day playing a game with no content. It's not cheating if the game allows and rewards you for using a game mechanic they put in there.

This is basically a beta, these are not exploites, it's how the game is programed to work. The fact it's a work around grinding means the game is made to be a grind fest instead of just playing a quality game.

I 100% agree with this comment. Ubisoft "claims" its an exploit because they didn't fully comprehend how players could break the legitimate systems they have in the game. This "exploit" is a vast oversight of the bonus loot system that shouldn't even be available in PvP, instead the system would be fine with taking the loot when boarding in PvP vs not getting loot by sinking the person. Calling it an exploit because the community figured out how to break your game in thier favor is just stupid. Patch bonus loot out of PvP and have your fresh slate with season 2. So much of the game has been half assed at launch. Yes they are doing a great job being on top of things that need fixing, but don't bull shit me about exploit when it is working as they intended...just not being played how they invisioned it.
It’s hard to make silver for new players who started after the po8 nerf
Nah it ain't. Just takes abit of time like it has for everyone to farm the supply network. Po8 nerf hasn't effected it
Personally, I don’t care what people do in this type of game because it has zero impact on me. I’ve earned and currently have over 20 million silver by just playing the game. Doing plunders and supply contracts for helm materials. I have a family and a full time job so I don’t understand why people struggle so hard or why they believe they have to cheat to earn enough silver to play. I’m not trying to top the leader boards this season but I am trying to get into the top 500. Current rank is around 650-690 depending on the time of day but I do that for fun.

awesome job. however grinding for silver to fund your factories shouldn't be a chore or consume tons of time either. When we get tons of silver, we share it with everybody. I exploited 1.9bil of silver which i shared my wealth to others in the game. Remember theres players like you that don't have time to grind at all and might be spending 2 to 4mil every 2 days on their factories just trying to catch up with everybody like me. So several million of free silver really helps out..

That's the thing you should have silver and currency according to your time spent in game not just usr the exploit and you both get bilions of silver within several hours even if you log once/week. Not fair at all, that's why the inflation in the game where everything is overpriced for trades
Silver is only hard to make if you are trying to get on top of the leaderboards... which honestly I don't know why anyone would... I only had like 10 spots leveled all the way up and reached diamond pretty easily.. I have now upgraded a whole lot more but I rarely even empty them.. pretty much do like 5 to 10 once a week at this point if even
Exactly. People are collecting po8 daily but why. We don't even know if it resets yet so I'll just leave them at full. Get my weekly sovereigns and save silver
Considering how easy it is to get silver in this game and co-op nature of the game, ban is too much. Resetting account progress is more appropriate response.

Another thing, it was put into the game. That’s the developers fault 🤷🏻♂️ if they didn’t want us to do it, it wouldn’t be there. Example, trade routes to factories… was over 40% and collect gold in a hour. People making too much gold so they patched it and now you have to wait 1-2 days…. If it’s not meant to be there it will get patched. Just my 2 cents bud
Boarding was added to the game yes. But the exploit is *A boards B* then *B boards A* rinse and repeat millions of loot because its an exploit pvp wasn't suppose to be played like that. An exploit benefits the player a bug doesn't impact anyone in terms of gaining an advantage. Hence why this is an exploit
@@vAaron-X I get what you’re saying, but again if it was something that shouldn’t be done then why is it available for anyone to do? If that’s the case take away the bonus… I’ve done this but haven’t abused it. Done it once. When you do it over and over the bonus increases each time. Why? It was designed that way. But it’s funny cause you can’t do it on everything. Only certain things. So obviously it was known about and regulated. See what I’m saying ?

Actually, it’s not cheating. It was put in the game to get to be used. Some of these guys had to grind and grind to get to the point they could sell for mass amounts of money and continue doing so. Also none of your ways pay for all bases at level 10, least of all at max production rate. You would have to not have a job, too have the time to get enough to fund everything. Trust me I know.

Ban for what? People playing the game and finding something to get silver faster. The only thing that fucks this kind a thing up is all the youtubers making videos about it instead of sending the video to ubisoft directly. More people use ‘exploits’ because they see it on youtube. So in my apinion, the youtubers putting those vids up must be punnished also.

I agree with you. You need the exploit to catch up and keep the factories going. The youtubers that condemn the players for this act should be punished. The game is broken and ubisoft knows it. The game isn't that old so maybe they will fix the silver tables so the exploits will be fazed out of the game.

@@vAaron-X I'm one - I have every ship and weapon, and all the ship armour I need. I've not used any cheats. I do struggle a bit with a silver shortage at times, but BUY some roving sugar etc, make some stuff and sell it sorts it, no problem. What annoys me is those who hang around the roving supply and continually sink it for it's cargo. Especially as they hold up others like me who are prepared to pay. The helm punishment is not severe enough, a couple of rogues who are easy kills is no punishment. As for the dupe cheats - ubisoft really need to fix their game pronto.. People pushing cheats on youtube and the like should be punished, increasing bans for repeat offenders something like 1 week then 1 month, 3 months etc.
Well Ubisoft, have fun banning at least half of your skull and bones community. Most people have done that exploit, and the people that say they haven’t done it and are against it, have also done it. Also technically it’s not an exploit where you have to go out of your way to make it work, just happens while PVPing someone. That’s not an exploit that’s how the game was designed, to give you bonus loot. Of people farm that to profit off it that’s not an exploit. What’s an exploit for example is in cyberpunk 2077 where you went to a drop box and pressed several buttons at the same time to glitch the game into duplicating items and in turn getting more credits.

If it’s removed and patched then problem solved. Leave it at that. Don’t ban over half the community for something that happens in literally every game to some extent. There’s always gonna be exploits and glitches, it’s not the end of the world because people take advantage of it while it lasts
I don't PvP or use the exploit so you can leave me out of your value system. I started way late but still might make Diamond rank. It's fun being retired.
I have already sorta made my feelings clear 4 days ago when I first heard about the exploit. I was really p'd off at the time having been grinding away as a solo player since day -3. My last stats on the game were slightly less than 1 million in silver, 106K Po8, 3k of those other things, in the 250s for the wkly and sub 1.5k for the season. I only really do the helm ships to get material for the factories. All factories at level 10 full up except the E.Indies which is something like 40% at level 10. I was saving up silver ready for the next season having bought everything I need. Anyway if people go into season 2 with hundreds of millions of silver due to the exploit I will be at a huge disadvantage if playing the Po8 end game. I am probably best if I ever continue with the game getting 1 map of factories getting enough Po8 for any future buys and not bothering with weekly leader boards. As for the bans they might be a little harsh, just simply asset strip all their resources and let them start again?

I absolutely hope the ban hammer drops. Exploiting literally violates the Terms of Use Agreement you signed when you started playing the game. Clear cut.

No they should not banned if you can punish the behavior. If the devs don’t like it they should patch it asap and find away to either take whatever they exploited away or do a cost increase for those that exploited whatever it was. Devs SHOULD NOT do something that affects everyone because the people who grind and avoid exploits shouldn’t be punished. What exploit are you talking about?
People taking in turns to board eachother to get duplicated loot everytime. If it wasn't exploited it would work just fine. But because people are taking it in turns that loot is duplicated over and over again. Anyone benefitting from a bug is exploiting and its confirmed by ubisoft it's an exploit and within the terms and conditions they should be banned
@@vAaron-X But if they did that, the game would be dead and everybody would stop playing it. Remember they design most of the events as group missions/events. If people stop playing the game if they banned them for using the exploits, then nobody would be on to help you out on a group event.. You want the game to shut-down?? come on think McFly think...
The game has less than a million players, why would they ban nearly 15000 plus players it would kill the game even quicker.

i do watch the exploit video's so i can make sure im not using them. But those who do use the exploits should face concequences. I dont agree with rollbacks as this is also punishing legit players. Also its not just those using exploits its those that are buying the items and po8's from sites that also allows them to climb the leaderboards faster. But it is also annoying when you watch a video of someone showing you how the exploit works but at the same time claim they dont use it yet in their video litterally shows you them profiteering from it

I'd like to preface this by saying i don't glitch or exploit and i have not done this one. What really upsets me is this "exploit" is more of an issue of piss poor mechanics. Don't get me wrong i love this game but cmon, that fact that when you board in pvp you get like 25% extra mats is absurd. You board in pve and barely even get bonus stuff to pop up. In my eyes ubi let this happen with a huge oversight.
It's an exploit because it's this player boards this player and they take it in turns over and over again duplicating the loot each time. There is a difference between a bug and an exploit. If you gain from the bug then it's an exploit and it's cheating
@@vAaron-X yeah but they're not making the game do anything it's not supposed to. IE force closing game, tricking it into doing something not intended. They're farming a mechanic working as intended by the company. As annoying as you and I find it, I feel the blame for this falls squarely on ubi and the devs. This doesn't really affect me much as I've grinded 500 hrs and have nearly everything in the game, obtained legit. But yes either way you look at it, it is extremely annoying.

They can claim it as an exploit to cover up their oversight and mistake. All i'm saying is these game companies need to do better. Having someone board you and then you board them and rinse and repeat is an exploit because its not suppose to be played like that. Its simple manipulating the system for your own advantage. I think people who exploit should have their own server and leaderboard if Ubisoft is going to allow. More and more people will use exploits just to try to keep up with the others. It's frustrating that I grind and grind and am not even in the top 1,000. What ends up happening is that legit players are going to play less and less and possibly stop playing altogether.

Only cheaters will say it's not cheating lol. But it's Ubisoft's fault for designing the game the way they did. I get why people do it though. Way too much time spent doing repetitive tasks like riding around for 2 hrs to get all of the po8s. Then grinding to try and fund the manufacturing. Before you know it, 6 hours have passed repeating the same process done 1 or 2 days ago.
@@Rad_Dad_Gamer the grind now is terrible and they haven't raised the gold count when looting ships/forts/or treasures & events. Until then, exploiting is the fastest way to obtain silver so you can enjoy other events/gameplay that normally players couldn't do.
I mean I get it. I am one of those players who tries to do everything including getting all of my factories to level 10, but it's to the point now that I don't spend much time doing much else besides plundering a few ports just to go back and forth between Red Isle and East Indies to produce and sell to Scurlock and Rahma. I hope they make some changes next season. I mean, at least allow me to fast travel with them to speed up the current process a little and make it either cheaper to fund or easier to acquire a lot of silver.

You must not have all the factories at lvl.10?? It takes 2 to 3mil every other day to run all those factories at lvl10. You saying you only have 11mil so must not have that. Look skull & bones devs know the exploits and who does it. If it was a bannable offense, they would have done it. So you are so wrong to think this is a bannable offense. You must not play much or you don't care calling out players that found a cool way of making silver. If you have a dislike for it, play another game and leave us alone.
Yeah I have all at 10. I'm just not emptying them because I have everything and I'm saving silver. Still get my weekly sovereigns for that's it. Silver isn't hard to get at all and even if it was it doesn't justify exploiting
@@vAaron-X I talked to one of the devs for S&B, they are aware of the exploiting. They aren't banning anybody or getting rid of the exploits. They are more concerned about keeping players active and having players support the game by buying the store items. If they acted and banned them for that, they would lose 70% of the player base. So you need to understand that exploits like this were put in there for the players to find it out and enjoy. Just cuz you don't like it doesn't give you the right to call players out for it.

I especially love in those videos when they say "they are just recording this in hopes that the developers see this so it can be patched immediately" or something like that. One I recently saw was just like that (even the title said something to that effect). He showed how to set it up, what item to use, each time they did it he would end up with like 500,000 zero weight items to sell. And that when he was like "oh let me show up how broken this is by selling all this stuff". Went all the way and wound up with like 500M silver...i don't think he just deleted his account and gave all that away. LOL. Total sketch man.
