Okay so I have oily skin but when I go to bed and wake up in the morning, you can barely see my acne and my face looks so clear and I love it, but throughout the day my face gets red and my acne and scars show more
I want to give hope to younger viewers. I'm 35, with very oily but clear skin (finally). My teens and 20s were a red, lumpy, cystic, whiteheaded mess that was also flaky and itchy. I was so depressed I gave up "looking after" my skin according to the typical advice - wash more with aggressive cleansers, use alcohol based toners, scrub multiple times a week and skip moisturiser. Instead I used warm water twice a day, sometimes with a face cloth. I wore no makeup. Very slowly my skin started to settle down, somewhat. I tried natural products but I was incredibly poor at the time so this was limited. Some things sucked my skin dry (like clay), others were too strong, or heavy. Manual exfoliation was limited to once a week. I realised I was allergic to synthetic fragrance (rash followed by painful acne) then learnt about the skin barrier and the affect certain ingredients had on it. There was still obvious issues but I no longer received pitying looks or comments. This year I moved towards “chemical” skincare by using squalene cleanser, salicylic acid, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide. I now get amazed comments on how healthy and youthful my skin looks, sans makeup. My pores are smaller, blackheads less, the redness has gone, skin texture is even, less oily, smooth and soft. Hormone breakouts barely happen. My skin is happy and we're not at war anymore. There’s hope but it takes knowledge and patience. It is a slow journey as you try different things. For me by adopting the chemical approach in an age where people are terrified of anything that isn’t “natural” was key. Hyram, Liah Yoo and affordable brands were instrumental in that journey to great looking skin. Keep trying, oily skin doesn't have to be your enemy.

Maryam Tarin I just used a bar of soap and st Ives on my face every day as a face wash, used dish soap, alcohol, wouldn’t use a moisturizer, essential oils, wore heavy makeup every day, etc. I was just young and trying desperately to get rid of my acne without the correct information :(

@Ocean i think you're using a wrong cleanser. i used to face that. but now I've been using a bomb cleanser that helps my skin not get oily for a LONG time. both of those cleansers were matketed as gentle but the second one is bomb. also you can try using niacinamide to control oil and sebum on your face

(if you want salicylic acid benefits too) if you're in us you can try cerave salicylic cleanser. i can't get it in my country

I love these videos because I have a teen who would never take care of his skin if I wasn't teaching him how and a preteen who is already dealing with acne. I would love more videos for teens with acne with dry sensitive skin and/or normal skin.
I stopped using sponges or physical exfoliants. I stopped buying clensers with alcohol. I started using micellar cleansing water with niacinamide and got a sunscreen and retinol. I've been using these for two months now and I rearly have acne or dark spots anymore. I just ordered ordinary niacinamide and the chem exfoliante (the red one) and cerave foaming cleanser. I have oily and acne prone skin and now my skin looks 90percent better than it did two months ago. Thanks Hyram.

the first time I used the ordinary niacinamide serum was a few years ago when I didn't know what my skin liked. but recently I am using the good molecules niacinamide serum and I LOVE IT. it just made me realize that the ordinary one is very tacky and oily for my skin. @Ocean i think you're using a wrong cleanser. i used to face that. but now I've been using a bomb cleanser that helps my skin not get oily for a LONG time. both of those cleansers were matketed as gentle but the second one is bomb. also you can try using niacinamide to control oil and sebum on your face

(if you want salicylic acid benefits too)

I love these videos because I have a teen who would never take care of his skin if I wasn't teaching him how and a preteen who is already dealing with acne. I would love more videos for teens with acne with dry sensitive skin and/or normal skin.
I stopped using sponges or physical exfoliants. I stopped buying clensers with alcohol. I started using micellar cleansing water with niacinamide and got a sunscreen and retinol. I've been using these for two months now and I rearly have acne or dark spots anymore. I just ordered ordinary niacinamide and the chem exfoliante (the red one) and cerave foaming cleanser. I have oily and acne prone skin and now my skin looks 90percent better than it did two months ago. Thanks Hyram.

the first time I used the ordinary niacinamide serum was a few years ago when I didn't know what my skin liked. but recently I am using the good molecules niacinamide serum and I LOVE IT. it just made me realize that the ordinary one is very tacky and oily for my skin.
