You make a good point about the screwdriver-serrated blade combo. I though the same thing and I would never use that as a screwdriver ever. I would be extremely cautious just even using the serrated knife because it does not fully open all the way as you may expect it should. But I do love my Tech-Tool 3 in City black. It goes everywhere with me. If I need to deal with screws I will use my little EDC screwdriver with my selection of 1/4" bits that I also carry everywhere with me.
Odlična recenzija Nož mi se sviđa i definitivno je konkurencija victorinoxu. Super je klipsa za džep. Nikada mi nije bilo jasno zašto kroz godine vic nije upgrejdao svoj čelik za oštrice. Zato sam baš neki dan kupio Victorinox Pioneer X damascus limited 2016. Lijep osvrt i hvalevrijedno upozorenje.
Victorinox uses 1.4110 steel aka X55CrMo14. In my opinion it is relatively easy to sharpen because it is hardened at 56 HRC while most of my other knives are around 59-61 HRC.
If the brand is not used by the Swiss Army, how could it be termed a Swiss Army knife? It's a tool. And a pretty crap one from what I gather. Thank you for this video.
The term is commonly used to describe a knife category (e.g. bushcraft knives, survival knives ... swiss army knives) and does not necessarily refer to a brand. Boker has their own traditional multitool knife dating back to the 19th century but most people have probably never heard about the Boker Sportsmesser while the term Swiss Army Knife is globaly known.
The vast majority of Victorinox models have never been and will never be issued to the Swiss army but I would still categorized them as Swiss Army Knives. One Victorinox model was issued to the German Bundeswehr. Should it be called the German Army Knife then? It is just a label for a category. Nothing else.
likota123 Pff... the vast majority of models. Not talking bout about that. The brand, mate. It's Wenger or Victorionox,, period. Show me some proof that this brand was ever issued to the Swiss military. Anyone can copy the style. Oh, btw, those that you referred to are called German knives.
I don't Know why you are so upset about a category label. When a product becomes so iconic like the SAK and many others copy that type of product then the whole product category will commonly be named after the original (e.g. in my country Jeep stands for all offroad cars). In the case of SAKs it is not even the original label. I remember when I got my first SAK over 30 years ago it was called Schweizer Offiziersmesser. In Switzerland it was just Offiziersmesser afaik. The term Swiss army knife became popular and was adopted by Victorinox themselves. Nowadays they call themselves "Maker of the original Swiss army knife" to distinguish them from the other manufacturers. However, Boker does have some credibility unlike other makers because their original Sportmesser was introduced around the same time as the first SAK. Oh, btw, the knife that I refered to earlier is called the Soldatenmesser (Soldier's knife) or Bundeswehrmesser.

+techwg Thanks for the comment. True, if you disregard the serrated blade the Tech-Tool is a really nice EDC tool.
The serratee blade is for cutting a seat belt to go with the glass breaker.
That's true but as I said in the video it's best to stay away from the serrated blade.

Hvala i "pretplatio sam se na tvoj kanal pa možemo ostati u kontaktu.
Are the scissors as good as the ones on victorinox??
No amigo, son mejores las de victorinox. Las de boker se traban al cortar cuerda por ejemplo.
The best use for the serrated blade is removing the foil from a wine bottle before pulling the cork.
Lovely 😊 tool. I thought the sandvik steel was good knife steel?
It is easy to maintain but the wear resistance is lacking compared to higher end steels.
Thanks so much for the warning. Too bad though, you had to get hurt to discover it.
the serrated blade can also cut glass by stabbing action. especially on a windshield.
Victorinox knives are not made from 420 they are hard to sharpen and 420 is not.

I also found them hard to sharpen. Then I tried a sharpening stone instead of a sponge and all of a sudden it was easy.
Hello, I like your review. A well pointed out issue, I did not like this blade, I felt it could fold back on you, but what have shown quite nasty.
50 plus bucks....i dont think so
Country of origin is also important. I would NOT buy this knife if it came from china.
