Coach PK is like Denny Crum in many ways with a modern take on the game. After watching tape and reading up on PK I bought season basketball tickets last April. I could see PK was going to bring great things to Louisville basketball and the city. This is a great interview that I am going to have my 7th grader watch. Priceless life skills in this podcast.
He remind me of Denny Crum when he first came to louisville . A young coach with energy, grit, knowing the x's and o's and wanted to be a winner. Also who care about his players and all of uofl plus the city. A great person and coach. Denny would of love to see you coach louisville basketball. And you too would love to talk about college basketball. Thank You Pat Kelsey for being our coach of louisville you a winner. The fans and your player love the way you are.
He (Kels) recruited my nephew, Bryce Butler to come to Charleston. This man is the real deal! Bryce would run through a wall for him! UL is lucky to have Pat restore the basketball program! Luck is when preparation meets opportunity!!!
This vid reaffirmed my hope that me and CPK would meet one day, and I would hope to like him as much in person...Him and I both had great Dads that truly loved us, one of the greatest blessings in all the world.
What an incredible interview. Looking at the long list of impressive individuals with whom you have spoken, I think it will be hard to top this one. This is a must watch. It's not about sports; it's about being your best version.
My first comment on this vid was when CPK was telling about his love for his Dad....at 32:11 now. This time I had to get some kleenexes to try and stop my runny eyes, dang allergies. lol There is no way of keeping track, but David you have changed so many people's lives for the better by posting this vid...unfreakinreal LOVE I don't have a planned day, but I know one thing I'm doing. I too am changing someone's life today by talking about this vid and convincing them to watch it. I'm forever grateful to you kind sir and CPK!!!!!!
Wow! What a great development for Louisville Cardinals Basketball. From the beginning there was the duo of Wes Unseld and Butch Beard under Coach Crum in 1972 pushing the Cards into the National Limelight with their second Final Four appearance followed by the winning but turbulent Pitino stretch. Once they stumbled everything else is up. Keep up the great competition. You only know how good you are by playing the best and being the best. GO CARDS!
I remember seeing a comment after Coach Kelesy was hired that "We will right back here hiring a new coach in 2 more years." This man is full of energy and passion for the tradition of Louisville basketball, the fans, the community, and his players! He has won 12 games this season so far, winning 6 in a row. This after winning only 12 games in 2 seasons under Kenny Payne. The future of Louisville basketball is bright!
Great advise for all leaders and young professionals. On one hand focus on the role you have and excel and on the other hand as leaders, recognize the potential of someone who does a great job in an entry level role and DO NOT ASSUME that you can't afford to promote or challenge them with additional responsibilities.
