I could have sworn I remember seeing a special episode of the show that began with Dave peeling off a fake mustache after making his entrance. Also, there was no $5,000 endgame.
That Episode Is From Supermarket Sweep Gourmet Week 1992
The lowest sweep total came from the PAX-TV years on the air--$7. The runner for 'Team 3' was going for the $250 Shopping List, without a cart, and wasted almost all of their 'precious' time.
I seem to remember she dropped quite a few items running away from Mr. Yuck, which is a $25 penalty per item. I do remember one team getting a negative merchandise score because of penalties.
