I'm fairly certain the pinecones in the hash brown recipe were meant to be a play on words! "Pinecone" sounds similar to "panko", which is a type of breadcrumb often used for korokke (aka what the in-game dish seems to be most closely based on-- the dish looks closer to korokke than it does to German hash browns). Very sorry if this is horribly wrong ^.^

I'd assume that at the start of the game's development, there's only so much farmable items they could add (for a region) which limits what a player would have access to and thus they decided to base the ingredients around that, which would explain the strange choices of certain ingredients
i mean, if i really wanna get into the nitpicking, how tf do you throw ingredients in a pot of boiling water and out comes a pizza

    • @twigvt
      @twigvt  8 месяцев назад +4

TRUE but also- there are still so many recipes at the time WITH appropriate ingredients- and for the soup ALL OF THE INGREDIENTS I SUGGESTED WERE IN THE GAME which also is like- god why

Long text ahead about the pizza situation...
Solving this issue creates another issue: if every food item is required to be made with the appropriate cookware, then we'll need a different menu for each type of dish.
      - One for the frying pan which only includes fried dishes.
      - One for the pot which only includes the soups and boiled dishes.
      - One for the oven that only includes baked dishes.
      - One for the grill which only includes grilled dishes.
      - One for the blender which only includes the drinks.
      - Etc.
The easiest way the developers found to avoid this, is sticking everything together under the same category; it's also user-friendly, since you won't have to move to a different area only to bake a pizza when you have a perfectly functional pot in front of you in the wilderness.
The sensible suggestion would be changing the animation that is performed depending on the kind of dish that is being made, since the complain is only about an aesthetic aspect the solution should rely on the aesthetics alone (not change any core aspects of the cooking code).

Well yeah there are physical tomatoes in the radish soup picture but there are also physical mint leaves on top of it. So it's not all wrong. And missing ingredient actually makes the food easier to access.
Pinecones in hash browns are silly but to be honest it is one of my favorite recipes because it is one of few 3-star healing foods that solely consist of ingredients that can be found in the world and don't have to be purchased from NPCs. I don't really mind it now but when I was still relatively new, not having to spend Mora on my food did really matter.

I mean… mint is really easy to collect l, so a lot of recipes use it. Paimon even said that there’s so place where mint, sweet flowers and hillicurls don’t exist.
I remember a time, where I used to collect mint like crazy (I don’t even like mint irl lol) and making those damn mint jelly, because they were easy to make and keep me from dying.
I love collecting recipes, making it in-game and reading their descriptions.
But sometimes it really makes me sad how you just don’t use 90% of the food. Many of us only use the 3 star healing and reviving food, the 5 star attack buff and maybe a LP or def buff depending on the character. I wish it would give more unique buffs like, making u able to use your burst (useful in times, when u wanna do a showcase, but your burst isn’t ready), em/er buff, jump or run buff (not only a stamina buff)

The mint dishes always made sense to me as someone who has been basically playing since launch. Everywhere you'd go you'd just collect a bunch of mint (like that one joke about how everywhere you go there's mint, sweet flowers, and fatui) but there wasn't much you could do with it (since there wasn't teapot and parametric transformer). I remember being excited when the new mint dishes dropped bc they were just stocking up in my inventory without much use lol

In Mondstadt's defense, pinecones are filled with Pine seeds, which you can get oil from (pine seed oil) which is then used to *fry* the hashbrowns. You can also mix in the now crushed pineseeds into the breasing for extra taste and crunch, especially since the pine seeds are like, the one edible part of a pinecone
They aren't eating the pinecones directly 😂😂😂
That said, I have worked in american breakfast establishments. I have seen everything from ketchup to syrup to, yes jam, spread on hashbrowns. It's fairly good but americans love our sweet and salty.

I think for the radish soup, since it came earlygame and it's a low rating food (not 3 star+) then it was natural to use only two ingredients, but I agree that they could use tomatoes instead of MINT, but given that mint is the most abundant thing in the overworld at the time, it is explainable, but the pine cone thing IS NOT XD
