    • @juliewake4585
      @juliewake4585 2 года назад

      @albert fish I’ve never said we eat what animals eat. What we eat is all kinds of grains, beans, pulses etc. Some of these are also eaten by animals but not all. Of course if we stopped growing huge amounts of soya and other crops to feed animals we would have so much more land to feed ourselves. There is enough land to grow crops to feed twice as many people who live on this planet, particularly if we don’t use the enormous amounts of land to feed farm animals.
      Btw we don’t say we can eat what animals eat: we do say we can get all the nutrients we need from plants, and not animals.

    I used to work for a DVD company. I sometimes ask carnists who raise this argument whether they've ever watched a movie or show online. They all have. I ask, well, why didn't you care about my job? The reason of course is they don't actually care about consuming particular things to keep people in particular jobs. They're just trying to justify their violent carnism.

    Crop prices are not high enough to sustain ranches to change to row crop farms. Many farms in America are both cattle and row crop farms because a year of bad crop prices often are years that have higher beef prices. Also most ranches would not be able to convert to row crop farms because their climate does not provide enough rain to grow crops like corn and soybeans which are the common cash crops. While you make a strong moral argument against ranches it just isn't possible to convert all farms to cash crop farms. Would love you to respond and counter. Just found your channel and would love to debate/talk. Obviously we have opposing views but we could learn a lot from each other. Thanks

    This is so beautiful Ed. We in the Vegan community need to target animal agribusiness farmers and slaughter house workers to show them we sympathize with their plight because in a really messed up way they are also victims of this system of death they have inherited in addition to them being the victimizer. This gives me a good idea for an outreach program towards slaughter house workers to turn them Vegan and heal their bodies, minds and spirits. If the Vegan community can get more slaughter house workers on our side by giving them a way out of the hell they are in, the scales will naturally tip in the favor of animal liberation faster. Go Vegan!

    I believe that, before all the world goes vegan, we'll develop the technology for producing cheaper and more environmentally friendly cultured meat, or "clean meat" as it's now called. So it's likely that traditional farmers will lose their jobs anyway.

    Some jobs and bad jobs, like being a slaver, have gone extinct. Many modern animal farmers were ok with that and enjoy the progress of modern life and tech. When machines were first invented, past people complained it would take people's jobs too. New jobs and tech are being invented. Progress can't stop. We should try to eliminate evil like abuse. The same thing was said about slavery, that it couldn't be eliminated cause of reasons like the economy was depended on it.
    0:15 Even if I inherited something, I would still follow my dreams and not my parents'.
    3:02 Slaughterhouse workers also suffer from physical injuries.

    While it's true that lives should be worth more than money, many farmers aren't rich, greedy, billionaires who enjoy the suffering of animals. Most farmers are struggling financially, and couldn't support their families without their farms.

    And if your land is not a suitable plant farm? People won't just change bcuz they were told life of their long protected and cared for animals who they naturally spend thousands into for profit os more important, then switch to a plant farming life that they didn't even know how to do nor manage. Sure it can be learned , but it takes years so and food and basic necessities so do medical needs and accident s don't wait for that. And not everyone has the money to help or do so.

    o yhea ill jus grow some ffocin soya beans on the side of my mountain great ffuckn idea, look there is low land farming great for growing crops👍, there is upland farming not so good, and what are we going to do when winter comes, no food we will have to import all our food from hotter countries , and with all the shiping and flying it would cause so much pollution it would end up doing more harm to our world, and have you ever heard of crop diseases , there would be so much artificial fertilisers and sprays being used , and so much land being plowed up it would cause so much harm for the wildlife, and plus in theory half the worlds land would have to go into a break crop every year, but there would be no animals to eat the break crops so you would rely on green manures for example red clover , but where the fuck would you get the seeds to plant half of the world with green manure, because you cant harvest them you have to farm them harvest them then sell them to arable farms where the will sow them them plow them in, iff this doesent prove that youre talking shit and dont know fuck all about farming life i dont know what will

      but tax subsidies are already going towards the animal industry. Or are you suggesting that tax subsidies should be gotten rid of altogether?

    • @Simon-Simon-Simon
      @Simon-Simon-Simon 6 лет назад

      why are they getting TAX subsidies ?
      all farming gets it due to pricing and rigged pricing and trade deals
      hahaha
      wrecking all farming
      Australia could be self sufficiency in all from oil and petroleum
      just look at petrol pricing

      Aren't farmers struggling enough already? If I was in your position I'd find another line of work, especially now that the truth of animal farms is now spreading like wildfire. You might not like it or agree with it but it's better to be one step ahead and move with the times. As Ed has said in a previous argument I want a world where you can do your thing and I can do mine but neither of us are contributing to the harm of animals.

      Dale Robinson u just said u wont a world where u can do one and i can do one thing i can do farming and ed can keep trying to change people and fail

      Without exploiting animals, though, that's the key part. Ed is an incredible activist/speaker who's even reached mainstream media such as the BBC and organises the annual Animal Rights March in London, as well as taking his speeches around universities in the UK. He's not just some guy making videos as you seem to think. You should watch this video where he argues with a farmer. ruclips.net/video/VdPcvOM4vXk/видео.html

    Do we know what percentage of farmland isn't suitable for arable farming?
